Just sent my AMS lower ic pipe off to Swain Tech to get coated. They're putting their thermal barrier coating on it (also having my intake pipe coated). Just say no to heat soak

What was their turnaround time? I want to send them pistons for GC coating and am wondering how long it will take.

I don't know, I didn't ask since I don't need these back ASAP. I'll pm you when I get them back. I just sent it in on Monday from California. We'll see.

Why don't you get the poly moly coating for the skirts too

Skirts are already coated from wiseco with what appears to be poly moly.

I am sending rod bearings for low-friction coating. I will have everything avaiable to go out tomorrow for friday delivery so I am going to call them and ask if they can return them by the end of next week.

WHen I eventually plan to upgrade the head and/or shortblock, Swain Tech will be coating everything in sight.

Timzcat knows a lot more than I do, but considering it's relatively inexpensive to get ic pipes coated, I would opt for the simplicity of that rather than fooling around with header wrap and hi-temp paint.

why not just coat everything (O2,downpipe,manifold,except turbo) that causes heat in the first place? This will add to velocity as well.
