thats glue holding the turbo together in case no one realized

The fact that they copied AMS is unreal. They also copied tial gates because they bought a 38mm, 40mm, and 46mm from me and then Tial had called me once they traced the serial #'s from the pics that SS posted up on ebay. SS has also copied greddy type s bov's. The people at SS should be hung. They have jerked probably hundreds of people around the world.

I highly doubt that their intercooler performs even close to AMS, I LOVE HOW PEOPLE THINK SHOPS LIKE AMS MAKE HUNDREDS UPON HUNDREDS ON THEIR INTERCOOLER KITS. between piping, welding, and making sure it fits perfectly, etc... it costs alot of money and time. I'd love to see someone buy this intercooler and use it, its just like those original Yonaka intercoolers that everyone was sweatin, they were junk. Maybe they are good now, but they were junk at first. trust the people who are runnin 10's and 9's

AND OBVIOUSLY MAKING PIPING, HEADERS, AND INTERCOOLERS REQUIRES MORE THEN JUST COPYING THINGS.

PS: ITS FUNNY YOU DONT SEE ANY 9 SEC OR FASTER GUYS RUNNING SS AUTOCHROME PARTS...

Knowingly selling junk and producing it from your own shop is pretty much the same thing in my book. Good luck with your manifold.

To properly test the pressure drop you will need an accurate, and repeatable pressure differential gauge that has the resolution to measure small pressure drops, which BTW I have. It is by no means cheap.

To do scientific (accurate) testing, you need to have a controlled environment, correct test equipment, and correct test procedures. If you really want to know how to do this then I can outline you a complete test procedure, but I doubt anyone will want to replicate it.

Competition? What if your boss told you you where fired because he now has a bunch of guys that will do the same job you do for 1/3 of the salary? That means you will now have to work and survive on 1/3 of what you made before.

It comes down to Ethics and morals, which to me defines us as human beings. In a free for all world where money and power is the only driving force and you'd crush your fellow human's dreams, hard work, and aspirations just to get ahead, is a sad state of affairs.

Of course there are many IC kits out there, but to blatantly copy the intercooler and our own pictures/description is just wrong. They are selling the complete thing for way under what it costs us to make it. I'm so frustrated with this.

I agree that SSAutocrap is garbage, ive mentioned this in previous messages, however, not much AMS can really do about it. It is more than ok to come on here and warn people about the garbage knockoffs, and you wont see me buying a knockoff IC, but in reality, they can knockoff whatever they want and get away with it. Ive seen people throw around the patent idea here a few times, and, as a patent attorney, that much is easier said than done. I am not sure how much AMS has invested in their IC's nor do I know how much money they make on them, but the average patent costs several thousand dollars to make, and that is assuming the product is even patetenable. Even with the patent, AMS would shell out tens upon tens of thousands of dollars to protect the patent against SSAutogarbage. As an example, my firm charges, $800 per hour for patent work, and the average prosecution for our clients is in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Just think about that.

umm....do you guys know for sure that ssauto gets their ICs made from china?? or are you guys just assuming this as fact?

this sucks for merchants, but great for consumers. not everyone can pay $700 for an IC. if someone else has figured a way to manufacture that product for less, than we as consumers benefit.

i'm sure the AMS product has better quality, but shouldn't that be a consumer decision. if the ssauto IC has 1-2psi pressure drop more but saves $400 compared to the AMS fmic, i'd be a fool not to consider it. $400 is a lot of money.

Just for the record I'm a caucasian dude, but I have spent a LOT of time in China. True their minimum wage is a fraction of ours, but it reflects an equally low cost of living and their minimum wage is enforced strictly. Internal Chinese competition for skilled labor has recently been giving the working class new leverage and many exceed the minimum wage many times over.

Not to say is all wonderfull over there, but this "slave" labor **** is the purest form of ignorance from people that have obviously never left thier back yards.

i don't even wanna hear about this chinese slave labor crap until someone can prove that ssauto sends their work overseas. because it really is irrelevant to this topic unless they outsource their work.

But I am sure there are people out there that think their work far exceeds yours, and it's probably more expensive too. They may feel the same way about you, that you feel about SSAC. Its all relative. Leave them be.

SS and this whole generation of ebay sellers and forum vendors are one in the same.

There is no longer the ability to make good money on standard hardparts, you can't blame SSautochrome for reaching out and manufacturing their own parts, it's the only way to make good money anymore.

While it sucks for a small, homegrown business like AMS, the bigger picture is that vendors sell Greddy and HKS parts for less than 5% over cost, it's completely whored out. So what does SS do? They make their own and now they're back to making the profit margin that they would have if all of these eWarriors weren't working out of their houses making pennies on the dollar.

Look at AMS or Buschur's prices on cams or bov's or turbo timers, and then look at yours NOLIMIT, how come their prices are so much higher? Because you sold out for the bottom line. You are in no position to shlt on SS, guys like you have brought this industry down just as much, if not more.

All I know is that I've seen posts from several people now running the manifold for a good length of time under harsh conditions and it has not failed. I've seen pictures of other manifolds, such as Borla, that cost twice what the ss manifold does coating peel off etc.

remember, over sea's labor rates are a reflection of the local economy. Im sure if you do a cost analysis, the percentage rate of income mirrors those workers in the US. Someone mentioned earlier that tarrifs are the way to go....they did it with foreign steel.....maybe their is a reason why they are not doing it with other products

Basic Economics

this is stuff that you learn in basic business classes, especially "global business environment." competition is good for both consumers and suppliers, but "knock-offs" that are made over seas(mainly in asia)are bad for both the consumer and supplier. it's basically a race to the bottom. by getting cheap labor($.12) hour overseas distributers can export goods to the US and sell them at a much lower price which goes beyond competition to more of a substitution. this takes jobs out of american hands and places our dependence on imported products. like i said before it's a race to the bottom on who can provide the cheapest product. so in the short run it is good for consumers, but bad for producers here in the US. but in the long run it's bad for both because of the negative effects it has on our economy(something you learn in any accredited business core class). now realistically knocking off someones intercooler is not going to sway the economy, but practices like these on a wider scale does. now don't get me wrong i think importing is vital for our international trade, but that trade is severly lop-sidded. we import about 100 times what we export, which places too much dependence on foreign goods. and the majority of goods that we export tend to be textiles that are used for goods that are made or assembled overseas to then import back into the US. but aside from all this rambling you basically get what you pay for. you will not have the costomer service that you'll get with AMS, Buschur and other businesses. how many times have you guys talked to reps from ssautochrome on here and got advice etc.? also you bought a $30,000 car why not give it what it deserves. with that statement i'm not suggesting buying the most expensive, but only suggesting to not neglect it by just finding the best price.

You don't think this happens now? It's been happening forever. It would be nice to take care of your employees and take care of people you know. But we all obviously know that if you start to take care of the employees, that means more money you have to make, more money you have to make, more expensive your products get.

This may work for mid size business, but if you start to do this on a larger bases, we'll go into depression due to inflation.

Which business owner wouldn't hire people you could pay 1/3 of what you pay your own worker, when the final result is the same? tha'ts 2/3 more profit for the business.

However, I'm not trying to smash you or argue on what is what. I can't believe you guys are sweating about this. Of course it's BS.

Really, you guys know better not to worry about this. Your reputation is well deserved so far, and that's something cheap intercooler can't buy. Just sweating like this over this little incident, obviously you're upset, just makes me think what might be the problem? It's not like they have the same core and usually the core is what makes a good intercooler, along welded edges (to contain everything inside the core).

I'm just saying, everyone need to stop saying bad things about theses small vendors that's just trying to make a living. We all know the risk of what you buy when you pay less. If it's not the product, it's support.

When megan racing first came out, they sold garbage. Now a lot of people get their parts, since they've made some money and is producing decent parts.

From what I heard and researched, ssautochrome parts haven't failed on evo's yet. That doesn't mean, it's any good, but it's not breaking anything.

of course, I'm not particular to one vendor over another.

I just think AMS should stop worrying about this and just kick some a ss pumping out some bad a ss cars.
