racing valve question

What exactly is a 3 or 5 angle valve job when building the head? What are its benefits and is it necessary?

its how many angles they port the valve openings. So in a 3 angle, they port it from 3 different angles, and a 5 angle, well, they port it from 5 angles. It is done to increase the flow of air into the cylinder and also make the air flow more smoothly. You can do a valve job and still stay with a stock sized valve, or you can go to a 1mm oversize valve, which again allows more airflow. On a stock size valve you can make up to 500whp easy.

I already have the 1mm oversized racing valves... will 5 angle be better than 3?

do you think I should port the intake manifold as well? Its costing me 80 bucks, what hp numbers can I get with it? I might as well do it to match the ported intake and exhaust head

You can think of multi angle valve jobs like routering a countertop. The more angles the smoother the radius on each side of where the valve and seat actually touch.
