He hasn't dynoed it yet because he doesn't currently have a dyno. I believe he said it trapped 2mph faster at a lower boost setting than a stock turbo. It's in either his huge dyno thread or the 21G thread.

I may have been premature in my statement, but from all the results and progress that you have posted, I have not been very impressed. Not that my opinion matters or if it is properly guided. I think that you can probably do better with it, and i think you're selling yourself short. I could be wrong, but that's my opinion. For those BR lovers that rush to defend him, i'm not saying i could do better, but i'm pretty sure he can do better. When you're as successful as he has been expectations go up. I just expect more i guess. I'd like to add that I am a fan of BR and I am happy to be in the same community as them. My comment was also misguided from my impatience/anxiety/excitement at the development of the 21g. I guess i'm just feeling a little let down.

Deric

ps it seems your excitement towards this WR unit is as high as most of ours and something similar was your goal for the 21g...i'm glad to hear you support this turbo too.

i think i'm gonna agree with deric's revised, more thought out explanation. I know the guy. nothing was meant to be ill-willed.

A word of caution. I got a TME turbo back in November from a reputable source and while it works like a champ, it arrived at my house not ready to be installed.

You couldn't tell by looking at it, but long story short, make sure you check the wastegate actuator rod for the appropriate amount of pre-tension.

Remove the retaining clip, it's probably either a C clip or a pin. Make sure the distance between the eye of the rod and where it attaches is about 2mm or so, or just compare it to your stock setup.

Mine showed up with no pre-tension at all and that will yeild you sluggish boost that taps out at ~12psi. If you re-install the lower heat shield you're kinda screwed on getting back to that rod with the radiator in the car. In fact, if you do plan to re-install the lower heat shield you should notch it so that you can pull it out without removing the O2 sensor. A pair of tin snips should do the trick.

I figured I'd chime in as no one wants to spend time working on their car then have to diagnose what's wrong with the brand new part. Had I known this step I would have been a much happier person, as would my original radiator.....

I couldn't agree more. Everyone was excited about the 21g, and it turned out to so so. For a turbo that has been out longer than the wr, there seems to be little evidence of "good" results. A local has the 21g from turbochargers and wishes he had kept his stocker...I'm not trying to dog buschur racing, they make good products and are very reputable. The 21g just came up short of mine and many others expectations.
