Just a guess but is it possible just like with engine breakin that there could be some metal shavings floating around that could be causing some of the noise you are hearing...that is why I suggested having the fluid flushed and fill with some new stuff.

If they had the tranny out I would think it would be unlikely to re use the old tranny juice after they drained it..

Markeddy-
When they did the tranny inspection, they replaced the old fluid. I had spoken with the service manager and he said there really wasn't anything abnormal about the way the fluid looked (excess shaving or debris).

It basically has everyone stumped. So untill it actually fails I am going to have to deal with it.

looks like the dealer is just giving you a bunch of run around BS, if they're interested in fixing your car they will @ least change or replace something that is @ least they think causing that noise. but since it's a a car company in a crapper looks like they're warranty budget is tight so they can't just replace expensive parts like trans or diff. but i bet if you were driving an expensive luxury brand and have this kind of problem it will be a diffirent expirience.......hope you'll get ur issues resolve goodluck

i forgot to ask when i saw last month, did they completely dissasemble the transmission? not to sound like a cynic but how many MR tranies have the techies disassemble beforehand. unless someone who has experience w/ a part, it's hard to tell. i would push for a new tranny cause the tranny manufacturer will be the one footing the bill, not mitsu anyway.

MRBKKT1-
That was one of the issues (They had been trained but never actually had hands on with the MR tranny). It is also one of the reasons why it took 5 weeks to come up with a decision.
