The thing about these kits is that as we continue to use them on the evo and give Steve specific Evo feedback he has worked with us to change them and modify them to suit our needs. In a short period of time we have made some very significant improvements - such as a pump that requires no lube and which can pump water mix, and also a flexable pump mounting system, to name just a few.

It is regretable that this clitch occured on the SMC kit - but everyone effected will be made whole and the units continue to be fully warrantied.

Just for reference - I use the same exact off the shelf SMC / Buschur alcohol kit in my 9.98 race Evo and I have not had any problems what so ever
i thought it was a "street evo" LOL...jk

look, have you hooked it up? in not, HOOK IT UP.

you don't even have to install it to hook it up...just hook it all up outside the car(you gonna have to cut and splice wires to hook it up again though) and see if it works. Nobody has had a problem with the kits if they were working to begin with...so if its working now, its not gonna fail.

I dissagree! If the man who built them says electronic engine noise is causeing a capacitor to foul up in the newly designed boards then hooking it up to a battery to test it will NOT show that it isn't going to fail after you put it on the car. Here is what Dave Buschur was told by Steve (the guy who makes them)

i didn't say hook it up to a battery did i? i said, hook it up! you can hook the entire system up without running all the wires through the firewall and putting the tank in place(thats what takes all your time). Then, turn the key on and see what it does......

Where did i see "rig" it to the battery and "test" it? I did not.

You are talking about hooking it up outside the car, and say that you will later have to splice into the wire harness. In other words, it is not hooked up the same way it will be after you do the installation. It is also hooked up that way for a short period of time without the car running around on the road at variouse RPM's with different electrical noise being generated. Most of the kits that have failed did so from a few days to a week after installation.... not the first 5 min.

From what i have read, the ones that have failed, FAILED right away. And i said RE-splice the wires...as in, they come with butt connectors already and you splice into the wire coming through the firewall, if you do this outside the car, you will have to RE CUT and RE splice new butt connectors.

Did you guys get the same nozzle as mine? I was told that this nozzle is suppose to be mounted on the bottom of the intake and spray upwards towards the sky instead of into the throttle body like the older ones pictured in the dynoflash install pics. I drew out a image showing where the nozzle is suppose to sit on the intake pipe(black line).

Thanks for the clarification of your sugested test method. Who all have you read about giving detailed descriptions of theirs failing? The only one I saw that gave good detail was 3deep and he said this:

That is where I got the impression that it takes a day or two for the problem to show up.

Whould putting a gauge to monitor the pressure and to know when it sprays and dont help?

It seem to be a good way to see if everything function up to the supposed level.

idk, i mounted mine on the side of the pipe, i think it doesn't matter as long as you don't mount it where it can siphon.

Just some misunderstanding

Ive spoken with several people and they have all failed pretty much right away. Mine has been fixed thanks the SUPERB cutomer service at SMC, Steve is a class act. I have spent an hour or 2 at least on the phone with him the last few days trying to troubleshoot....never experienced such good customer service on a product before, EVER.

Thanks again Steve!
