Whats wrong with Buschur alcohol kits

Im on my second controller unit in two weeks. The first unit would not trigger and spray. It only sprayed when test btn was held down.Second unit the spray lite came on off boost and stayed on while driving to work this morning.Good thing i wired a cutoff switch or the car would have flooded in traffic.Im running 50/50
water and alcohol, but if i had 100% meth id be scared ****less of catching fire.I read a post last week about others with the same problems and yes i have a good ground.

I have heard that their pump and controller are both inferior from other alcohol kit companies (that have been making kits much longer).

That's why I went with the AMS kit. A much better controller, and the pump is about three times the size. You don't need to run any lubricant and you can spray whatever you want through it also.

This is scary. My spray light has been coming on by itself even when it is not spraying.

I have talked to SMC several times this week and I was able to get all my issues worked out. Trust me Steve will do anything in his power to make you happy. The Buschur kit and the AMS kit are almost the same they just have their own style of componets. They are both great kits.

If the spray and low light is always on the lights may be wired backwards and the current may be backwards. This is if the controler works just the lights are switched (Low = Spray(turns off when it sprays)) and (Spray = Low (turns off when the tank is actually low)) lights being on mean off and lights off mean on. You can switch the green and white wires on the harness when crimping it to the controler and it will fix your issue.

Is it a good idea to test my unit first to make sure everything works fine, like the controller and spray nozzle without it installed on the car? I was thinking of filling it up with water and hooking it up...then hit the spray button to make sure everything works.

It is a must! Otherwise very bad things can happen but only test with straight water as you mentioned.

My first unit failed the first day while tuning it.The second unit lasted 2 or 3 days but failed this morning in rush hour traffic.Car went super rich all of a sudden and i looked down the spray lite was on.The engine started to stumble until i hit my off switch.

Question,

If there is something wrong with the controller are they replacing them free of charge or are they charging you for a new one?

I've had mine installed for a couple of months now but will only be getting it tuned this coming weekend. Hope the damn thing works now. I had tested it when first installed and it seemed to work correctly.

Tony
