have a question

hey guys, I am new to the evo world and I have a question( and yes I have done a search). I want to get the gt3076r turbo kit from atp, and my question is can I add an exhaust and get the car tuned and be fine? I want the bigger turbo and instead of going the stage 1,2,3 route from buschur I would like to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Personally, I would avoid the ATP kit at all costs.

I have heard mixed feelings about atp. I haven't heard anything bad about them in a long time. Any reasons I should stay away?

From what I understand, and no, I don't have personal experience with them because I've taken the advice of others who have told me to stay away, is that the custom cast turbine housing that they use is of a poor design that results in bad spoolup of the turbo. Their kits are very laggy, even with their "small" turbos. Granted, their kits are cheap, but they don't perform very well at all. You can get the same power out of a TME turbo and alchy injection at the same price.

I agree. The ATP turbo kit was a great idea that sounded great on paper but didnt put out the numbers. For those kits to put out any sort of decent power the boost needs to be cranked up to insane numbers that sacrifice durability (27psi+). Save up and spend wisely on a kit like the AMS, its works great.

Oh, by the way, if you have an 05 Evo, don't even waste your money on a TME turbo... the stock 05 turbos are good for quite a bit of power on their own.

yeah 05. So basically I am better off going a buschur or ams stage 3 or 4. I just had an 03 Z06 with 400whp. Am I realistically gonna be close in speed to the z06?

From a dig, you'll take a Z06, from a roll, it'll be close. The buschur stage 4 kit is good for 400 at the wheels (dynojet) but the Evo isn't as slippery as a Z06, has AWD to turn at speed, and is heavier I believe (might be wrong on that one).

I know this is a buschur forum, but there are other companies out there to look into as well. Keep your options open and do research on everyone before you make a decision.
