Prototype Bolt-On Turbo Testing

The other problem with selling just the wheels is the machining must be perfect and it takes a few tries to get the tolerences right. If the tolerances aren't exact, performance will be greatly impacted.
Trust me, sending your turbo in and having it converted to an SS55, 20G or WR for less than $1000 is a great deal. Doing it yourself, and then having to buy another turbo because the machining is a bit off can get very expensive.

Yes, I'd be interested in a stock turbo overlay.

Also, for Joey, I forgot to address Tony's lumpy power curve. He was having BOV issues that have now been corrected. He has dynoed again and the curve is much smoother. I used this run because it was the highest whp and trq. We'll dyno Tony's car again when he get's his new actuator and can hold boost better to redline.

Quick update. We went to the track last night and ran a 12.0 at 116 on 25 psi of boost and 103 octane. My best run prior, before cams and turbo, was a 12.5 at 110.
My Mods - 03 EVO with sunroof and nothing taken out but the spare, SS55 Turbo, Power FC, tb exhaust, cams, EBC, ACT.
It took all night to figure out how to launch the ACT, but I've got it down. The temp sitting at the line was between 105 and 110 all night long. I'm sure with a few more runs, I'd hit an 11 second pass, but unfortunately, it took me a while to figure out how to launch and I was granny shifting the whole night. The other problem I had is I kept hitting the rev limit. The turbo pulls so quick that I was bouncing off the limiter because I wasn't ready to shift.
We'll go back out next week and run some 11s. I would guess that we can probably run an 11.5 or so with this turbo when the weather cools and we run a bit more boost.

Is it O.K. now to call you "116 Robert"?

It holds almost full boost to redline. On the dyno, it was loosing less than 1 psi from peak to redline. I'll log some runs next time we go to the track. I was really just trying to figure out how to launch the new clutch last night and didn't expect to hit a good time.
The turbo should flow well to around 31-32 psi according to the engineers, but we're taking it slow for now. I may put an akly kit on and run higher boost and pump gas. With the temps this hot, the alky kit would do wonders.

i'd like to see 120mph traps...
Amen, I have seen 1st hand repeated a 117-118MPH trap on the 03 unit of all things and the 117 was on pump gas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I am looking for a pump gas turbo that makes 420WHP and traps at around 122MPH on pump gas. I doubt the stock 16G housing can do that, it just can't.
The Buschur unit ran 120MPH with every mod inteh book AND race gas, BUT on 23PSI so it's not terrible.
