Typically, it runs me about $600 to upgrade a compressor wheel on a turbo. Garrett GT-spec wheels generally run $225 or so and the rest is machining of the compressor cover, rebuild, balance, etc...I've spent about that upgrading a mitsu-based T78 and a GT4082 to a 4088. Both much larger turbos.

I guess the only difference here is the custom reverse wheel (I'm assuming billet?) and very limited quantities?

Unfortunately, they are unable to get the wheels and it looks like the project will die because of this. As of this week, they are still not in the US, though they have been waiting since just before I started this thread. I guess someone doesn't want this turbo built.

I would like to chime in on this, sure it is going to cause problems but that's O.K.

All I want to point out is the dyno sheet.

The base pull was obviously done with a lousy tune or something else wrong with the car. A stock turbo, if tuned correctly will pull atleast a flat HP line to 7,000, if not climb all the way to 7,000 rpm. The 70 whp with the cam/turbo upgrade is actually gained at 7,000 rpm where after the install of the cams/turbo the car obviously was tuned much better.

I think to get a better idea of what the gains should have been you need to look at the graph before the base pull WHP started to fall. There it looks like 25 whp or so.

I'm not being negative or knocking the turbo. There's plenty of business for all of us. I am just pointing out the fact that the two charts aren't a very good comparison as the first one just..........stunk.

Good times you are running the car, congrats.

This is really unfortunate. It looked promising.
