I'm fairly confident I could have broke 120mph with 25psi on the Green (going by 1/8th mile).

I currently don't have the car setup for low boost now though since I'm always on E85.

This 6-blade turbo did not taper like your TME turbo or like a lot of Green datalogs that have been posted. In fact, a selling point of this 6-blade turbo was the fact that you didn't need a 30 psi spike like the stock turbo to have decent boost at redline. Look at post #66:

Also, look at the first post of this thread and you'll see that according to Buschur the peak boost was very close to the redline boost level:

2nd gear boost hit a high of 21.99 psi at 6578 rpm, at 7477 rpm the boost was 20.71 psi. AFR's were very flat, but lean at 12.3 - 12.4.

3rd gear boost hit a high of 22.44 at 6051 rpm, at 7145 rpm the boost was 21.53 psi. AFR's were once again very flat at 12.4:1.

I don't think that it was that exotic. Built 2.0 with HKS cams and a ported head. Certainly not as exotic as the most built Green cars these days with the aftermarket intake manifolds, more modern camshaft profiles, aluminum rods, etc.

So, in other words, these test results should be discredited because they weren't on a customer car? Maybe the ported head gained 25 whp over a stock head, but otherwise there was nothing exotic on the car. Even if the car had pulled 121 mph at 22-23 psi, that' right in there with what the Green is doing these days, but without the IX compressor housing, without the larger turbine wheel, etc.

There's a lot of hype around the Green. I just wonder if other designs are getting overlooked that deliver comparable performance at a lower price tag. The 6-blade wheel was dropped by Buschur for business reasons, not performance reasons. Now the 6-blade 20G VIII turbos are readily available from turbochargers.com at a much lower price than the FP Green (less than half the cost). I thought these results were worth a second look. An 11.3@124 at 22-23 psi with a bolt-on turbo is pretty stellar any way you look at it.

I bought squarely into this discussion and these results, which is exactly why I bought the turbo. The turbo did not deliver satisfactory performance. I dickered with it for a few months. Others reported the same observations, and we've all moved on. I'm just relaying this to you for your benefit, not mine. I can't vouch for anything except my own first-hand results. You're welcome to go buy one and take your chances. Don't forget to read the discussion whereby Robert from FP tested this turbo and reported his observations.

What was your 1/8th mile trap? I was at 96.x mph on 25psi with a mild tune.

I know that Buschur did 2-3 days of testing and reported that the 20G with the 5-blade FP wheel (now in the Green) and 20G with the 6-blade wheel performed identically -- same spool, same AFR, etc. That was the rationale given by Buschur Racing for not changing the name of the turbo or otherwise disclosing the change in compressor wheel supplier that resulted in the swap from the 6-blade to the 5-blade compressor wheel (which is now in the FP Green). It was all explained in detail:

I didn't see subsequent testing by FP. Did that show something different?

Someone needs to write a wiki on all of the variants of the Evo 16G turbos, complete with test results. It would be very interesting and useful. Maybe I'll do that...

The subsequent testing involved pressure measurements with both turbos, and exposed the issue with the 6-blade turbo that IMO, rendered it inferior. I have no idea of where to find the discussion.

I have the 20g-IX-6 in my car currently. I got it for a super price (Like really super) so I couldnt pass it up.

It was a rediculous improvement over the stock VIII 9.8 hotside turbo that the 03-04 came with stock. The car makes more power everywhere

Other than that I cannot comment on whether its better or worse than a standard 16g-IX or 20g-IX-5 as this is the only other turbo Ive had in there other than the VIII 9.8 stocker.

Soon i'll be sporting a ETS set up so screw it

It is an EVO 9 turbo that has a little bit bigger 6-blade compressor wheel installed in it. Don't waste your time or money on it. . .
