downpipe

question i was talking to a friend of mine today, he was saying that i need a downpipe if i want to get any power, i should get one, i said i have straight 3 inch pipeing plus a 3 inch test pipe would their still be any need for a downpipe? thanks for any info

You'll get more power in turbocharged motors if you open up the exhaust even more.

IMO, a 3" dp to stock exhaust will yield more power than a stock DP to 3" cat back.

IMO, a 3" dp to stock exhaust will yield more power than a stock DP to 3" cat back - in theory yes, but if you look at dyno comparisons, its not the case

well im saying, all stock piping was removed, i had a HKS muffler installed, along with a ultimateracing test pipe, that was 3 inch and obcourse the 3 inch piping going from the from the test pipe to the muffler. so you guys still figure there is a need for a down pipe?

it will literally be a different car (in a good way) with the addition of a 2.75-3 inch downpipe

Definitely .. You'll have a full 3 inch TBE ..

because i would like to stay with another HKS product but theirdown pipe is omly 2.75 i would prefer a 3 inch, and authority just so happens to make it for damn cheap. does anyone have their downpipe? and did you feel the gains?
