I was thinking of getting the mini battery kit. Has anyone have any problem with it.
I don't want to have any issue if I am going for few hundred miles trip. Any input is appreciated

Is there supposed to be a downside with using such a small battery? I believe these batteries are designed for motorcycles and are only rated at around 20amperes instead of the usual > 60amperes used by most cars...will these low ampere batteries be overcharged by the alternator and have a reduced lifespan?

The mini battery kits are known to have difficulty turning over the engine in cold weather.

Depends on the amount of Cold Cranking Amps the battery has.

The UBC battery that Nisei is using has 420 CCA. Is that good enough? However, it has only 22Ah so does that create issues during daily use?

The BR batter has 1/3 more cranking power than the stock battery. But the battery life isnt much. Antything over 15 minutes is probably pussing it. There are no problems with a smaller battery as long as you dont have a huge system in the trunk or anything.

I have had both and they are both great. Go with the Nisei, it looks nicer. And yes, they have more cca's.

I use the odyssey batteries in my GSX and has a hell of a lot more cold cranking amps than the stock battery ever thought of. Saves a s@#% ton of weight and room.

The only down side is it can't go a long time running your booming radio without the car on.

Is the PC680MJT battery the one we are suppose to be looking at? How much is it?

Ive been using the Nisei for about 4 months now and about 4000 miles. Functions exactly the same as stock sized battery, no problems. Wish I woulda bought one sooner! 20lbs off the front of the car and much more engine bay room!

Here is a complete battery kit for $150.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ighlight=nisei

Right now I heard Nisei Engineering is having a sale til the end of the month and all parts ship free!

http://www.norcalevo.net/forums/view...180c1ef031b0e8

I bought the Enersys Genensis battery from Nisei for $80 (cheapest I found) and I had the tray. But, I'm thinking about getting the tray because of the sale.

Heres the battery I got & the tray I'm probably going to get.
