13 whp GAIN from the Nisei may not be a lot in your book but, take a look at what you will lose if you don't upgrade your FMIC. Remember this is a fairly stock car and if your producing more whp it WILL ONLY MAKE THE WHP #'S DROP FASTER!

Take a look at those #'s again. Now, these tests were conducted "back to back" on the dyno which means it only represents a 1 GEAR PULL!!!

If think about it actually driving in warm weather (80 degrees) the car most likely would be much worse off because the multiple shifting going on.

The undertray was removed before the tests were started.

The intercooler sprayer was turned off.

The fan used was a 42" 1/2hp airking drum fan.

Stock results were obtained with peak boost ranging from 1.55 to 1.57 bar. Hp is listed first Tq second. Results are given with a standard correction factor applied.

275.91hp 279.38tq
280.54hp 281.26tq
263.25hp 280.61tq
262.13hp 280.61tq
266.65hp 275.98tq
So in this particular test the STOCK FMIC dropped quite a bit of power so, if you take the highest whp of 280.26 and subtract the lowest whp at 262.13 equals a loss of 18.41 whp. But if u take the highest whp (as your baseline) and subtract each run that you lost whp from it... the 4 passes that lost whp ends up to be an average of 13.68 whp.

So, the way I look at it is if the Nisei FMIC averages +13 whp on that car and the Stock ends up at -13 whp. I would be inclined to think it might not be a bad idea to upgrade.
