I was just curious since you have no problem. I wonder if your engagement is way up there ( 0 to 1 thread left). I had 3 thread left and adjusted it to 2 and it seems to shift better. I want to go to 1 or 1.5 thread left to see if that will eliminate the high rpm shift blocking issue but want to leave some free play to avoid other potential issues.

I have an ACT and its a great unit, I dont race much and I love it.

But when I try to race I have the same problem Warrtalon has! The ACT simply cant shift over 7000rpm, a friend of mine also used the same setup and same problem.

When AL tuned my car he tested it and he also told me the same, he told me to buy an Exedy next time!

Warrtalon, I already have the SS clutch line, adjusted, etc etc etc, same thing, its the clutch! Sorry but we have to live with it!

Thanks for the input. I cannot drive this car if it can't be shifted above 7000. I may as well be driving a Civic for all I'm concerned, so I will probably be looking at an Exedy Twin in the near future...

Well, to be honest, i expected much better things from my ACT. I have not even come close to my stock clutch 60' times...and everytime i launch on this ACT i get the stank burnt clutch smell, never a problem with the stocker.

The high RPM lockout is a huge PITA. Before i adjusted the pedal, i could shift into 3rd fast at high RPMS and could shift into 4th fast but got a grind. I have since adjusted the pedal and had the TSB done on the ttranny. I haven't been back to the track, but the high RPM shifting seems to be a bit better, but still not as good as stock. Its FAR more notchy, it barely will go into gear. Its like half lockout, it won't go in until the disc slows down i guess.

Im going to try the SS line, but i REALLY wish i would have went with the exedy twin.

Has anyone wrote ACT and got a response at all?? Just curious.

I have an ACT 2600lbs clutch in my DSM and haven't had that problem, however, seeing the problems here makes me think twice about this....at least for the Evo.

why not just buy a new stock clutch plate then, or i think ralliart makes an upgraded plate too. i may try this when mine goes. ill also be doing the labor myself and wont mind doing it twice if i have too!

ACTman usually responds to threads regarding the ACT, but he's been strangely absent from this thread.

I tried to contact him directly, but his account automatically refuses any PM's, so that didn't help...

i think the stock disc doesn't have heavy enough springs in it for the clamping force of teh ACT pressure plate, therefore it will be rough on the tranny. *i think*

otherwise, stock disc with ACT PP would be the way to go.

when my clutch was pulled, my disc was fine...my PP and flywheel were shot to **** though.
