So there was indeed a problem with the wastegate, parts are ordered and should be here in a few days. Thanks for the help diagnosing. I think I will be much happier with this kit once this problem is fixed.

I bet the wastegate does not have the seat installed. This means you have a big boost leak before the turbo. I dont know that many people that have used tial wastegates. And I know three who left the ring out. The boost response is exactly as you have posted.

Awesome suggestion! Looks like it paid big for the original poster.

After you wade through all the BS posts on the internet, you truly do find a gem or two on occasion. I'm glad it looks like it's going to work out for you.

i have to say i'm dissapointed that people blamed the turbo so quickly especially since it almost seemed obvious something else HAD to be wrong... but let's see the finals now.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I was wondering how the turbo spooled up after the wastegate problem was fixed?

I was never able to get any good conclusive results as I've stripped the car down and am parting everything out. I will try to find a log with the wastegate fixed, it was quite a bit faster spooling but I don't remember exactly what the rpm point was.

K guys, i now have this kit on my car, and it is fully operational; lol.

Full boost is just after 4k, probably like 42-43 00.

I'm happy, the turbo feels good, and the car pulls hard. After tuning i will have some dyno's and what not for you guys.

I would say the problem was the wastegate, or maybe even his car. He had his Evo almost fully built, and i think put down about 330 whp when tuned at TQ freaks, which is a high reading dynojet... I can tell you guys for a fact that my car with MUCH less mods is making well over 330 whp...

Just remembered the thread and thought i would update, i'll be back.

Keep your eyes peeled for my install thread (you guys will find it funny, it was quite ugly) but hey, it was my first time doing a big project like this. Oh and i already have an intake piping thread posted, here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=244113

and here is a thread i just started that might be somewhat related to the boost problems Kyle R was having. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=249480

Oh and if you guys reply to the threads, don't say "Kyle this, Kyle that" because my name is Kyle also (Kyle O) and things will get confusing, lol. Imagine how our phone conversations were .

God, ATP should sponsor me or something after all this.
