Did you recirc a ver 2 kit with the Upper IC pipe and buy a longer hose to go from the SSQV?

I found the ssqv to be to stiff to work with my car , no matter what the screw was set at (re-cic and vta) . I sold it and got a MR valve and it works 10x better for me .

I agree SSQV = Chuck and replace for the Evo. If he's running recirc on a ver 2 kit that will not work. The hose is way too long for the recirculated air and it causes major issues.

I recommed the APS though

I had HKS SSQ version 2 with the purple insert on my car with light mods such as...

TBE, MBC, HKS RS intake.... UNTUNED... my car had no CEL, no stalling, and absolutely no idling issues.. Vented to Atmosphere.... ohhh but it was probably causing extremely rich conditions during shifts or when I let off the gas... but hardly noticeable

I'm not arguing its great to vent to atmosphere I'm just saying I had no problems and my BOV was extemely loud...

I had no adjustment screw on my SSQ which I sold already.

I don't like my greddy RS bov...

(not trying to hi-jack)
RyanM.... which APS are you referring to? I'm looking into that.. I want something to hold 25+ psi.. not the MR bov... The only APS BOV i see on lancershop.com is a dual vent BOV which means it vents and recirculates.... My car may be very sensitive to a BOV now after adding Cams. Does the APS flutter AT ALL.. I mean anyone ever mention fluttering on it.

thanks!

There is no flutter whatsoever with the APS. It really works great, I'm extremely pleased with it. I think the dual stage works very well, I'm not so sure full on recirc doesn't end up causing turbulence at the intake. I assume thats the logic for having the dual stage.

I'm very happy with this the APS unit. You can buy from EvoM member:

just get rid of the HKS, I have read too many posts with problems like yours. I recommend APS, just get that one and you'll be very happy.

all my research on this board shows the APS is the ONLY BOV to not have any issues. Even found some threads with people having issues with the MR BOV. APS is the only way to go IMO.

I think the 2 main issues with the MR BOV are #1. People install it backwards and #2. It doesn't hold much more than 21psi.

No, I don't have the ver 2 kit. I just get a adapter and put it back in the stock position with the HKS recirculation kit. I heard the hks ssqv would be no problem with reciculated, but after i installed, the car is even worth than VTA. I think i might get rid of it now, but which bov i should get? The mods I have is HKS RS intake, Tomei turbo outlet with downpipe, Kakimoto R catback and ralliart ecu with apexi avcr. I set my boost is arond 21 psi in the track days, I notice the stock bov is leaking now, so i need to get a good bov which can hold more boost, no drivability issue, don't care about the sound. Any suggestion guys?
