RMR has an intake for the Evo 8. Well, at least it's on the website.

Anyone know anything about the HKS intake with the green filter? I'd like to know more about this intake kit.

check out www.kansaiss.co.jp

In there you'll find what you need ..

As for the mushroom .. I'm using it on my GT-A, pretty ok .. except it's a pain taking out the MAF from the stock box .. I damaged the fins taking it out .. so be careful !!

That HKS foam filter has been known to come apart in pieces and then it ends up flying into your turbo. Don't get it.

I've always like a plain old K&N. I have no idea if there is one available for the Evo, though. A 2G Eclipse turbo one might fit if the MAF is the same.

Shape,
Perhaps just a drop-in filter then? I like keeping things stock whenever possible since aftermarket always seem to cause issues down the road.

I wonder if ITG has a panel filter that would fit the stock EVO air box. Is the VII air box the same as the VIII?

BTW I talked with the Rhys Millen shop today and the only part they currently have ready to ship is the intake. The guy quoted me a price of $115.00 for the intake kit which seems like a pretty fair deal if I was looking for a short-ram style intake. The guy I spoke with said the air filter configuration sits behind the drivers side headlight and draws in cool air from the grill inlets and below the bumper.

Maybe we could get a group by set-up? Anyone want to (or know how to) set it up?

I would love to buy that airbox. I'm in for the group-buy. That is a sweet setup. Chrono, if you want to look at setting it up for the purchase I would be in and could do plenty of advertising.
