no, i wouldn't say its worth the trouble of checking out. reason being is that most people who are new to the evo are -

1. not used to the noise an awd car makes
2. the extra noise level of the above due to minimal use of sound deadening materials

again, unless you feel or really hear something while just cruising along, i'd say you're alright.

If it locks up you definitely will know and it could easily cause loss of control of the vehicle.

all i know is - this sound wasn't here when it was nice and warm - no probs at all - just don't want to be stranded out somewhere b/c i didn't double check something b/c i ignored it...damn mitsu

I would go in and change the fluid. this should be done MORE FREQUENTLY than the service manual states! see if that does it. It doesn't sound like a TC to me, change the fluids, and re-check!

from what i've heard oem fluids will suffice and is better for our evo's than redline...however, does anyone know a place w/ good prices on them?
