So let us do a little math.

Let us say for arguements sake that the labor rate is $90 hr. Before you start complaining everyone, $90 is not out of line for the NE.

Round off hours to 10. $90 x 10 hrs. is $900 plus fluids and tax-- round it to $1000.

Ugh NO!!!!!!!

Funny post.

I am also in chicago and I have not found a good deal anywhere. Everyplace is asking over 600 since I am gonna bring the clutch in. Does anyone know any good place around here that will do a good job for a fair price?

When my clutch does go I will be doing it myself but I hear you need some special tool to bleed the acd. How much would it be for the dealer to do and would I be able to drive it there if I took it easy?

I did mine with some of my friends from my club. It was our first awd clutch change. All the shops around me gave me a quote of about 900 the lowest i got was 450 but I didn't feel he was sure about the job. So we did it following evo moto's play by play and it ended up costing me an engine hoyst, since we werent corridnated enough to do it with the two jacks. lol

I'd go with the experienced installer. I chose the cheaper, inexperienced installer, and 6 months later I was doing it all over again, but with the experienced one.

Not sure about the ss clutch lines - I've never heard good or bad about them.
