NO , good luck

I hate to say this, but skip the bore scope and pull the head. All the bore scope is going to show you is what you already know, bent valves at least. You might take the cams out as is to see if the journals are seized. If so you had some sort of lubrication problem.

yea your right but i dont know who to take my head to or if i want to get a new race head so we are getting the bore scope to look at the pistons and walls to make sure they are fine, if its just the head, it will make it a little better on me, if it the whole motor im screwed!!!

Where are you at in NC? If you're close to Charlotte I can probably give a hand if you need it.

Hey, if it's just the head you could get the new coswoth head.

My guess would be the lightweight crank pulley allowed the crank to vibrate more than usuall wiping the bearing tolerances, which in turn lowered your oil pressure. To a point that caused the head to seize, and break the timing belt, which stopped your motor from runing.

The evo has oil restrictors that limit the amount of oil pressure seen inside the head, they do this to keep the hydrolic valve adjuster from pumping up with too much oil during high rpms causing the valves to stay open. IIRC the ratio is around 2:1, so 55psi at the crank the head gets around 25psi. But if your oil pressure was lower say 30psi the head would actually see even less oil maybe 10psi. The oil pressure light IIRC will only come on when there is less than 10psi of oil pressure. Which would leave the head with only about 5psi.

i'm still at work but i got one of my friends to cut the timing belt, the cams will now turn, not sure of the valve damage but here is the new problem!! what is holding the timing belt?? if it is cut seems to me it should pull out!! it will not move so something is holding it!! we are going to pull the head but does anybody have any idea what is holding it?? what ever is holding it caused the problem!!!

There is alot of oil in the top of the motor so my guess is that it's not the oil pump...

agreed!! there are too many people that don't do any research when it comes to underdrive crank pulleys, and they end up paying the price...i would say your oil pump failed and your motor is seized...sorry

how many miles on your timing belt and tensioner? The tensioner is known to fail. This could have locked the timing belt in place. If this occured, it should have at least squeelled for a while, until you put the clutch in, and made a lot of "rubber" dust inside the timing belt housing.

With any luck, if the tensioner broke, enough timing belt slack existed such that as the pistons came around to top dead center, there wasn't anything holding the valves in place except valve spring tension, which could have yielded to the rising piston and protected your valves. One can hope....

you know what would be great? if somebody used mspaint and tossed some red circles around points of interest because i have relatively no idea what i'm looking at here, other than what parts they are.
