Evo differentials

I'm interested in differentials since taking up track events and a little touge running. How do you guys feel the stock (03 in my case) evo differentials perform? Is there reason to maybe change one or more of them out for something better? This is one area of cars that I'm having trouble getting a grasp on. I don't wanna screw around too much because I know how advanced the evo drivetrain is and I think the mitsubishi engineers really knew what they were doing. Any input appreciated. Thanks.

U definatly want to upgrade your front diff. Be it the LSD from the 04-05 RS or a quaife. If your not pushing a lot of power go with the 04 RS Diff and you should be good. Rear diff is already an LSD so you dont have to worry about it.

You need to upgrade the front LSD in you're transfer case. The 03's come with a rear LSD, a viscus (sp?) center diff and an open front diff.

I think most track enthusiasts will agree that the most worth while upgrade is the front LSD from the 04' RS or a Quaiff. This will allow you to evenly apply power out of cornrs w/o the inside wheel losing traction and spinning.

The new ASD Active center is an ($$) hassle to upgrade and is really not worth it at the level most of us are at.

I did the 05 RS diff and it makes a huge difference especially if you track or autox.

They have them on sale at Team Rip Engineering for $850 vs $1500 for the Quaife from RRE. The Quiafe has a lifetime guarantee. IMHO unless you are putting down lots of power its not worth the extra $$$s. Put that money into the install.

Does anyone know of a center diff for the 03 VIII. I would like to replace the stock VCD with a unit that will do a 35(F)/65(R) power split

Thanks
