Next time I drive my Sti, i have to keep an eye out for the difference, all 0.03 of it.
But I have the stubby wing mirror on my evo, so I guess that helps...

Just out of curiousity, has anyone had problems with overheating their EVO's with these large front mounts in hot summer weather? I always had problems with my old DSM overheating after we put a front mount in it and ran the AC during hot PHX summers.

lotta road racers have already accounted for water temps with radiators, whether they actually help with more water is up for debate, mainly because no hard evidence has ever been provided via logs and such, but people are fairing well with them and biggie ics. the real question tehn becomes can your oil temps be safe.

Bell Intercoolers are the best cores on the market. Down side to them is that they are expensive.

have any of your guys tried the APS?

Is very large, well supported, beautifully made, has been tested in the UK to give fantastic cooling with minimal pressure drop and fits in the standard location with no cutting.

My only criticism is that it weights 13.5kg and I have little idea why!

I have an idea of why we don't see much about APS . . . what's the pricetag?

You probably hit the nail on the head.

Its about $1100 I think for just a core.

Not having checked into the other prices specifically, I am guessing this is very expensive.

Does that make it too expensive for the like of Mr. Buschur to test one?

Am guessing it would be a big investment for him to test a theory, but it really is VERY respected in the UK.

There is always the argument that with so much manufacturing expertise in the US, why bother importing from Aus? That said, we have some great core manufacturing companies in the UK, but still many of us import.

Who knows, but would love to see a DB back to back test on one of those.

It is expensive, and unnecessarily so.

With IC's here that are proven to be efficient with 900-1000whp cars and at 2/3 the cost, there just isn't any reason for us to spend more. And lastly, we (should) know all too well that a higher pricetag doesn't necessarily equate to better quality/performance. I see plenty of import parts (esp. turbo kits) that will attest to that.

When I needed to replace the stock FMIC, I wanted to buy a part that was developed specifically for Evos by an Evo shop that tested and refined it on Evos. This meant either Buschur or AMS. As my shop is associated with Buschur and was able to offer the part at a fair price, I went with a Buschur FMIC.
