Ported Shroud for a 35R

Ive done some searching and it seems Ive made the right decision but I just wanted some feedback. I originally had ordered the RnR Gt35R kit with a t04E inlet and 3" intake pipe but decided to switch to the T04S 4" ported shroud and 4" intake...good decision? will this help spoolup at all or surging problems?

A 4" intake is quite difficult to fit in the engine bay... especially with the stock radiator. There's been several tests that show a 3" intake on a to4s will not lose any power compared to a 4" intake.

On a 35R it is good to get a ported cover if you can do it now instead of later. Depending on conditions I have had experiences with the 35R trying to surge during spoolup on higher boost levels.

no picutres yet but I was told the 4" would fit just fine. Also, will this help spoolup at all?

It will fit with a 3" reducer so you can use a 3" intake like Buschurs but it is a close fit so it will depend on the manifold placement. It will not help spoolup with a ported shroud but it doesn't really hurt either. Its kind of a win/win.

A 4" intake will not fit w/ the stock fan. RnR sold me a 4" intake and then told me after I had received it that it won't work w/ the stock fan or MAF.

Thanks for the info, Im going to have to call RnR and see what they say about the intake fitment. Do you have the RnR turbo kit? I would assume the placement of the turbo would affect if the intake hits the stock fan or not and maybe they have adjusted for this??
