The opposite end of this has the 'hat' shaped flat-ish end with the nipple on it.

The other end must either be recirculated back into the intake pipe (after the maf) or just left open (vented to atmosphere, VTA)...but recirculating it is ideal.

BOTH of the pictures listed here are 'correct' if you understand how it works. Sorry for the harsh reply but this is really turbocharging 101. I have an awesome book by Corky Bell (seriously) that you should read. EnjoyDriving, if you'd like to borrow it let me know, otherwise it's on half.com for cheap:

Hey, Scheide. I know how/what a BOV is supposed to work, but just the fact that I've read so many postings on here, some yada yada about backward setup working better and some yada yada the opposite...just so much theories up here and the thing is that I can't test them all out myself, since i don't have the hand-on experience like you, man Therefore, it's good to bring it up here for some open discussion. Anyways, you did answer the core of my question, the orientation (such as direction/position) of the BOV seems doesn't matter as long as it's hooked up correctly - cool. Then, it might be a boost leak in my case and you'll have to sit in my car for a ride next time I bring it over, ok And I will borrow the book from you as well. Thanks

Guys, thanks for the sharing and please feel free to post a couple more pics of your BOV setup or any findings that you have
