Horrible Friday the 13th
Well today is Friday the 13th.. Its been a bad day lol. Well some may or may not know my car has been sitting at Dyno4mance for about 4.5 months now trying to get a new turbo kit installed, Full-Race Turbo kit. I have had nothing but the worst luck in the world with this and have spent more than enough to buy two kits. At this point depression is setting in and I just more so want to vent.
Anyways to start I ordered the kit well over 6 months ago and after it was made it was lost in the the hurricane in La. So I had to have a new one made.. When I finally got all my kit, lots of parts didn't work or seem to fit. So I had spend time on the phone with Full-Race and Andrew of Dyno4mance and try to get that all situated. In the end I just kind of gave up and started buying new parts and telling Andrew to just make stuff to fit the kit. Keep in mind this all is takeing place over a 6 month period. I will take it up later as far as the other parts go. Well everything was put together about 2 months ago except the intake tube, which wasn't in the kit, like it should. I talked to the company about getting one and they did try to help the best they could. I sent photo and tried to get measure so they could make one.. In the end I got a pice of pipe that had a 90 degree bend in it. Not sure what Im going to do with that. I told Dyno4mance at that point to just see if he could come up with one.
Then what seemed like a bit of luck shinned threw, he had a Vishnu car with after market turbo (same size as mine) show up and we tried the intake on his.. It was a perfect fit. Solution seemed all to simple. Well called Vishnu and said we need an intake for a stage 3 car. Got the okay from them and then waited.. Waited...... and Waited some more. A month passed and new years was on the way. Still no intake. They close for the holidays. No sign of intake, I know there fab guy is really backed up so I dont hold Shiv or Vishnu at fault.
At this point im pretty bummed about the car. I have spent money on parts I shouldn't and now im waiting on an intake..
.
I gave up on that.. I told Andrew don't worry about it just make one yourself I will pay for it. Dyno4mance being a top notch shop(I couldn't recommend enough) did just that. Made the intake and it was completed last wed. Dyno4mance said I will fire it up and get her running this after noon. "All right its finally there", or is it? You guessed it, its not. Andrew calls later on wed and said you wont belive this. Your harness for the xede you got back from being flashed is bad..
I don't know what to do but try and have Vishnu over night other. He trys all day to get ahold of shiv and the guys but busy, busy, little bee's they are were, well, busy. He finally talked to someone there and they said there out of harnesses, they will have to order one.
When Andrew relayed this info to me I wasn't a bit supprised. My luck with this build has been bad the whole time this isn't new.
Now its time for a break,
I finally get a bit of a break. It just so happens a guy is coming into Dyno4mance he has to leave his car that has an xede. He is going out of town and told Dyno4mance (Andrew) to give me the harness and when the new one comes in that he will take it, or we could just trade back, whatever works.
He call's with the good news and says lets shoot for Friday or sat to hit the dyno. Im happy he's happy. Everything seems good. There seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Well today being Friday, and the 13'th you knew it would rain poo on me. And poo it rained.
Just as I knew it would. Andrew called me this morn and said the harness is here and the car is up and running!!!! My jaw dropped and atear rolled down my cheek. He said I will call you tonight and tell you the results and you can come get her tomorrow. At this point im dancing im so happy. I spend the whole day playing racing video games and staring at the clock.
However when the phone rang with Dyno4mance across the caller id. I had a gut feeling something was wrong, even though I had been expecting a call all day.. *this took place at 10 pm. Well Andrew said there is a problem. I don't know what the problem is, and im in the brain storming protion of it. Curiously I ask what, but with my head hung and my tail tucked between my leg. He said it wont hold boost, er it wont even make boost. He explained that it wouldn't even start to spool until little after 5k and by 5200 rpm or so it only made a measly 9 to 10 psi. He had looked it over for leaks, and none could be found. Dyno4mance is the only company to ever have worked on this or any of my cars so he knew the work history and my driving habits.
I got off the phone with the news that we have a problem and were not sure whats going on. Could be a bad turbo, could be a leak but very doubtful. My only two cents was possibly my BOV was the weakest link, (APS dual vent). At this point im really not sure whats going on. The turbo is a little guy, 3037. So it shouldn't have a problem spooling. This thing makes a 35r seem like a lighting quick spooler. I dunno though.. its all pretty depressing. I have watched so many other cars go in and out while mine sits. I have watched Chris's evo blaze threw life quicker than mine and his was blind shot compared to mine.
Any ways im sorry for venting so much.. Im just down about it all. I was so set to pick her up tomorrow and now were at the, "crap I don't know whats wrong stage". You guys have any ideas feel free to shoot them at me. Its been over half a year so far.. Whats another half right?
thanks

ps. By no means did I mean to, put down or speak poorly of the vendors or companys if it came out that way.

What pressure wastegate spring is in the wastegate? The XEDE needs at least a 1.2 bar in order to run at 23psi and a max of 26psi.
Did you put the factory restrictor pill back in the wastegate line between the turbo and the "T"? Without this you will only have wastegate pressure which I think maybe your problem.
What size A/R housing is on the GT30R?

Yea Andrew checked the wastegate and made sure he had the right springs. As a matter of fact he had to order the right springs because it didnt come with them, again my bad luck with the kit lol. The restrictor pill was removed along time ago, back at stage 1+. The A/R is .63.

Like I said, the only think I could come up with is my BOV http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/us...o/bov/blow.htm
Had similar problems with an integra at the shop last night. Turned out to be some improperly sized and routed vacuum lines resulting in a malfunction with the Tial wastegate. I'm sure Andrew has gone over all of this and am in no way trying to tell anyone how to do their own work. Just putting a solution to a similar problem out there  Good luck man!
Although my situation doesn't seem nearly as bad as yours, I know how it feels to have to constantly overnight parts... heh, trust me, its worth the wait...
If it makes you feel any better, I'm local to you. =x

I wouldnt think he would take it as your telling him how to do his job.. In fact his look over has been very limited.. Remeber he found out it wasnt boosting around 10pm tonight and had to close up and get some sleep. So only basic things where checked. The more ideas the more I can suggest we check over tomorrow. He did mention however the oil inlet on the turbo was rather large and didnt seem "capped" or smaller like the others he had seen.
