It does, just don't kill the poor car! I have my AC out, bumpers, pad under carpet, rear wiper, wing for racing(on for the street), small battery, light wheels, and light exhaust. My car with cage is 2985 without me and hardly any gas and no rear seat. I still have all steel parts and the stock sound system.

You still have the EVAP stuff? Its a huge box. Im pretty sure it was over 10lbs. You seem to be doing better than I... Im about 75 lbs heavier without a cage but you have wheels, ac, carpet padding, wing and the seat (I think you have a carbon trunk as well?) and my exhaust isnt exactly light. Thats probably around 100lbs and maybe a little bit more for less gas but still... Your cage is mild steel or Chromolly? My cage weighs in around 113 lbs but add some for paint, weld and window net Im assuming around 120. Im assuming yours is a 10 point as well?

Stock recaro: 37.lbs, replacing with spraco evo: 11.8lb reduction

202lbs reduction right there. It adds up.

I have no idea how much I save with a aftermarket catback and downpipe.

I did get rid of that box! Roll bar is chrome moly. I Don't have a CF trunk yet, still can't justify $600 for 10#'s. With this car im concentrating on big power instead of weight savings.

So how much does a carbon fiber trunk weigh compaired to the stock one? I know the hood is pointless to replace but it seems like there would be some savings in the trunk.

Mind if I ask how much the chrome moly weighs in at if you know. Is it a 10 or 8 point? Perhaps I should sell the mild steel one i got and get it from chrome moly instead And come on... dont kill the car. Your one of the weight savings kings. This is still keeping the car "stockish" looking. Its not like I am going to swiss cheese it yet or anything.

I just pulled out the pad under the carpet last week. There is a lot of stuff under there. Pads, metal plates, wood etc. But the real weight is the sound material on the firewall. That stuff is like lead. I was able to pull all of it off the drivers firewall, half off the passanger firewall and none in the middle. Someday I may take apart the entire dash and remove the rest, it weights a good amount.

The stock seats are beasts. 37 lbs each, a fixed back seat weights around 16 lbs. Good savings there.

What is required to pull the EVAP stuff, I'd like to do that.

Well the weights that are replacement parts would be the total weight savings, not the parts themselves.

To remove the Evap stuff from the rear of the car you just go underneath the driver side rear. I cant remember if the bumper needs to be off but I dont think so. You just unplug the wire harnesses and unbolt it all. I left all the hoses hanging there. They will smell like gas, which is normal. If you park in a garage it may make the whole thing kinda smell like gas but I dont know. It also will set off a bunch of CELs if you care.

I pulled the AC, lines, condenser and the AC Fan... didnt weight them yet but Ill make sure I get the complete weight of all together. Once I yank the dash I will weigh the various crap I find to yank out thats not needed. The ABS to non ABS will be done soon also but I dont see that really saving too much... more because I hate the ABS and the way it looks in the engine bay. The window motors in the rear will also be weighed soon with the door beams (If I can grind them out easily).
