Yes, but only in 1st gear. It is pretty stiff going into first when the tranny is cold.

I bought it after my clutch was installed cause I was having issues of it not going into gear. The guy that installed my clutch said with it being shorter wouldn't help it. He adjusted my clutch engagement and it's 10 times better.

If its shorter, how is it a extender?

if my car sits for about 5 hours or more the clutch pedal drops about 1-2 inches closer to the floor. I have to use my feet and hook it back up. Anyone else experience this problem?

Your not suppose to let it slowly slip when with a twin disk....just kind of let it drop...not completely dump it
Those high performance clutches are harder to use and make more noises than the stock units... I had an Exedy twin disk clutch in my EVO and it was not easy to drive.. It also made all kinds of noise which was apparently normal (I asked around a lot). I've heard the carbon clutches are much easier to use than the cerometallic ones, but I'd guess that any competition clutch is gonna be a pita to use for everyday driving....

since I have the cerametallic plate can I upgrade to the carbon carbon by just swapping plates?

Good question. I don't know the answer, but I don't think it would be worth the hassle and cost unless your plates are shot already..... I know how ppl brag about their particular clutch or whatever, but I take all the bragging about the twin disk carbon clutches with a big grain of salt..... Oh, I'm sure they are great units, but I doubt seriously they are much improvement for the driveability or noise.

Just my $.02

I know my car shifts 10 times better with the twin disk in it than when the stock clutch was in my car. I've had my twin disk in my car for about year now and it did take a couple weeks to get used to it, but I wouldn't trade it for anyhting else. I'll still stall my car out every once in a while. I don't complain about the clutch cause I paid $500 for it.

Yep, I have that too. It is mabey an inch or so. I usually pull it up with my foot when I get in the car. It started when I replaced the tranny fluid with BG syncroshift.

That's what I mean about people's different opinions about their stuff.... I know that the competition clutches are much better for engagement and hold a lot more torque, etc. I personally don't believe that the shifting itself is better at all. As long as the clutch is working properly, the shifting action itself should not be any different from one clutch to another... After all, all the clutch is doing while you shift is disengaging the transmission from the engine. The shifting itself is all a matter of the shifting mechanism including the shift lever, synchros, etc.

As you say, it takes a while to get used to driving with a competition type of clutch. You also say you still stall the car every once in a while... To you it's no problem and you like the benefits of the competition clutch more than the inconveniences of it. For me, the driveability trade-offs were too much. I don't think I'll install a competition type clutch in a street car of mine, I hate the off-on action. It's very difficult to modulate and most of my driving includes heavy traffic stop and go with lots of uphill starts. On the other hand I can count on the fingers of one hand all the drag strip launches I've done with my '05 and still have 5 fingers left unused .

Nearly all the modifications that ppl do to their EVOs as discussed in these forums will sacrifice the overall driveability of their car in exchange for higher brute performance. The question is which is valued more. An enhanced performance level for road and track racing or overall comfort, driveability and reliability... Each of us has to make that decision for ourselves.... BTW, I'm practically stock now. I even removed the cat-back exhaust I had because of the noise. I like my car better stock than modified

I have this problem (feature) as well. It only seems to happen when I leave it in gear.

On the spectrum of comfort vs. performance -

Comfort...........................Performance

I've got a Exedy Twin Disc, EMS, and drive around on >12k springs, but I love it. Many would hate it. Just have you find your happy place!

I would gladly drive any clutch that could hold up to my driving even if it has minor inconveniences. The Exedy has been perfect thus far Only a very slight noise when clutching between shifts and a little more on/off sensitivity then stock. I went through four clutches in my GSX within 10,000 miles and the Exedy is by far better than any of them (stock, CM 2500 disc, ACT 2600, and CM 2500 4 puck) or any other clutch I have driven for that matter.

That's true, you gotta find your place. We are all different, I'm even different than I was 2 years ago when I was modding my '03 EVO.

First I got a cat back, SAFC II, K&N drop in. That went nowhere really.

Then I got Al's custom "road tune" flash and added a MBC.. That gave lame results and I removed the MBC due to fear...

Then I got HKS cams, cam gears, fuel pump, big injectors, fuel rail, HKS RS intake, TBE with TP, AEM EMS, big Greddy RL FMIC, Twin plate Exedy clutch (burned the stock one with about 20K miles, maybe less). After that turned into a nighmare of undriveability, I was at the end of my rope when the Vishnu guys and Andrew & Barry from Dyno4mance helped me out and removed the AEM EMS and associated stuff along with the intake.

Finally I got the XEDE and Xflash along with the cams, gears, injectors, fuel rail, fuel pump, FMIC, TBE and the stock intake plus the Exedy twin plate clutch. Those things made the car finally recover the driveability I had lost with the other crap, but by this time I already had low compression across the board and fairly severe blowby..

The car was running pretty good and put down 290 whp at 19 psi (dynodynamics dyno), but I was sick of it... I traded it in on an '05 MR. It's basically stock and I love it! No problems, no noise, no stalling, no idle issues, no blowby, etc. I hope my luck holds out and I don't get any problems with the car. Oh yeah, I don't abuse this car either. No drag strip launches for me. The clutch ought to hold up for a while
