Problems with Forge RS BOV

Hey guys -
I wanted to see if anyone else is having similar problems like me with the Forge RS BOV (recirc. ver.) I've had the bov on my car for 6 months with no problem until very recently.

My boost has always been set to 21psi but recently I've noticed that my BOV is acting up. During ...
1) ~75% throttle the bov starts fluttering around 16 psi while accelerating. (this sounds like surging but Mike confirms it's not)
2) WOT the boost hits 21psi then starts swinging from 18 to 21psi every few seconds.
3) Very light acceleration (around 5psi) when I let off ever so slowly the BOV starts fluttering while decelerating all the way through vacuum.

I've tried to adjust the bov and checked for all possible leaks but it still is happening. I don't drive my car daily nor in bad weather.

I spoke to Mike today and he suggested that the grease inside the BOV needs to cleaned out and re-applied with synthetic bearing grease. He also says this BOV will always have some fluttering. (I never did till a month ago?)

Any other guys having similar issues? Please discuss.
Thanks,
Taimur.

I would regrease it. I had to do that on mine after a while. It acts funny especially if it sits for a while in the cold weather. Once everything warms up it is fine. When I put new grease in everything was better.

Thanks Scott. How long does the re-greasing last?

Any others...

To me, the stuff you are mentioning is very normal except for the bouncing boost - that is a separate issue that you should diagnose quickly.

- Fluttering after only building 5psi and letting off is just poor driving. A strong BOV is going to flutter if you do that, because of compressor surge. You lessen this by loosening the BOV, but that sacrifices boost-hold strength. Just do a full lift of your foot, and it will purge normally.

- Part-throttle boosting acceleration also causes flutter (not surging), because of the pressure differential. You need to be WOT for it to work properly. If you want to do a lot of part-throttle boosted acceleration, again you'll have to adjust the RS.

- I don't think the BOV has anything to do with the bouncing boost
