rev drop problem

it seems as though when i have the car in full throttle through around three gears or even two the revs drop quickly and than slow at 3000 rpm when i drop it into nuetral anyone else have this problem any little bit of info helps thx
also i have found that pushing the clutch and releasing while in nuetral helps drop the idle

bump cmon someone is bound to have seen this before.
p.s. i think i could be the engines natural thing as many tuners have said the 4g is lazy and lets face it rev it from idle and doesent jump right up there as fast as lets say a s2000

Clutch going out?? I say the tach reading is a "slipping" reading. Drive down the road, normally, in 3rd gear, put it in 5th instead of 4th, mash the gas, and see it the tach jumps up, which will indicate a slipping clutch. Hope its not, and hope this helps!

No, this is not normal. What he described is the OPPOSITE of what we normally see. He said his revs drop QUICKLY from redline, then at 3k they slow down before returning to idle. It's supposed to drop slowly from redline and then after 3-3.5k, it drops fast again.

I have never heard of his situation happening before and have no clue what could cause it.

- is this what you're saying?

3rd gear redline
put clutch into neutral
rev drops all the way down to death/stall?

Normal for 2005's. Emmissions related. Popping into neutral or at the end of a pull is normal.

just in the past two days my car started hanging at 4k rpm (will not drop rpm at all, stays at 4k) when I push the clutch in and wont release until I put it in gear, release the clutch and then put it in neutral again.

I cant figure it out....sticky throttle cable?

This thread is a repost of this:

I'll post the same question here as no one in the other thread answered it.

Can this stupid feature be tuned out with a reflash, like they do to remove or increase RPM limits.

I'm tired of having to use my brakes to slow down by 1-5mph on the highway - feels like I'm driving an automatic, keeps on going unless I use the brakes - this sucks.

Apparently disabling the clutch position sensor amplifies the problem:

So clutch in and it will drop.

It is a lean burn feature to pass the sniffers.
