i have the valve but needless to say i no longer use it due to drivability issues and am now runnig the forge rs i put the ssqv on for a weekend to scare people woth and didnt like the sound anymore i like the forge sound alot better and as for the flutter i got that too as our cars are not ment to run on VTA unless you plan on alot of boost or some sort of application such as that

No it is recirculated back into the manifold. The reason I bought the BOV was for a future upgrade to a gt3071 turbo in a few months. Now if I am still a "ricer" with 28 pounds of boost on pump gas, what is the world coming to?
P.S., whats this I hear about a 130 box that fixes the surging on the SSQV? Anyone know anything else about it?

What your experiancing is the car bucking b/c the MAF is all F'd up when you let off the gas, a car that runs speed density or a blowthrough set up will still flutter but not have the drivability issues that the Evo does. I have this valve on my car but i will be switching to speed density this month after my turbo install. As for your future, if you can run 28 psi with a GT series turbo on pump without blowing your motor than you are my idle!

There is NOTHING wrong with your stock valve!!!!

Answer, no you wouldn't be a ricer, but you still would have replaced a perfectly good, functional, applicable stock BOV for this setup, with something less, and wasted your money. You "wif" me?
the screw on the rear of the hks isnt meant for adjustability.

The HKS SSQV has 2 valves on it I believe, one opens up at low boost hence the flutter. The other opens at higher boost, the loud whoosh. I have mine venting to atmosphere and get a slight hesitation when I back off the throttle lightly on the highway. It's the car running momentarily rich. Hope that helps.

That HKS Ssq is a good BOV. I have seen them on high horsepower Supras, and they have no problems.

i have the injen intake with the upperi/c pipe and the hks ssqv install along with my other mods. i put it on cause i was planning on cranking up the psi but i moved to hawaii and they do not have the means to tune a awd car out here. i also get MAD "bucking" when i am crusing down the highway and let off the gas easy. i have the recirc. kit on mine but i think because the injen intake is so much more less restrictive on the air flow then that big ugly stock block box i think its like my bov pushes the air right out the filter instead of to turbo thus acting like vta causing the "bucking". it bugs me alot to be honest with you i think i am going to put the stock bov back on and see if that helps it. now i would like to mention that i dont know **** about turbos and jap cars so if anyone thinks this is way off please let me know and go easy on me. thx.

Hks bov is not good for the evo , even if its re-cic . IMO its to tight (dont release enuf compressed air) and thats what causes the bucking, comperser surge ..... It is one of the best for NOT leaking , but pure **** for driveability . The Stock evo 9 AKA (MR) valve is the cheapest and best bet under 25 psi .
