MBC off? Is there a point?

Ok I have a TurboSmart Single stage MBC on my Evo with the cabin toggle switch. Is there really a point to turning the MBC off? I mean considering the fact that if I do, the car will run off the wastegate limited pressure of 11psi which is WAY under stock. The only "point" I can see to that is POSSIBLY saving gas maybe? Assuming that the less air incoming, the less fuel the car will need to run. Or am I wrong? I figured that maybe on long trips, I'd wanna turn the MBC off to save gas.

Side note: Flaming won't be responded to so don't waste your keystrokes.

You're right. There's no reason to have it. I don't know why people bother wasting money on that stuff.

No, cabin control is fine. I'm talking about those weird Turbosmarts with the switches.

Oh. I take it the cabin control is being able to adjust the boost without gettin out of the car. Ah dammit. Now I wanna unhook the switch altogether. It being there pisses me off.

If you live in an area with very slick driving conditions having a low boost setting works as a form of traction control. I think you are a bit too far south to worry about that though.

Now, if this setup has seperate lines that bypass the boost controler to give you wastegate spring pressure, then you can put a manual boost controler in that bypass lineup and adjust it up to higher than your normal boost level for use with race gas, or as a high boost setting with an alcohol injection kit.
