Broke my cam gears...argh!
Was it the exhaust cam that gave you problems?
When I did mine the intake went without a fight. The exhaust....not so much. After getting a pipe for better leverage, rounding the bolt off, breaking a bolt extractor in half and, a lot of cursing I ended up having to pull the cam and mill the head off to get the bolt out. It was way overtorqued or under lubed from the factory. Once I milled the head off I could grab the shank of the bolt and spin it out by hand.
As far as the "what's a project without something going wrong" statement if you have anything like my luck with this car don't worry something will go wrong with every project.

Here's an idea: take the old gears and cams and throw them in the trash (or sell them on Ebay
). Get new bolts, new adjustable cam gears and a pair of 272/272 camshafts. Install. Enjoy. Thread
