Is it possible???

Do you guys think it would be safe to boost the evo 18 PSI in higher rpm's when it drops to 16 PSI??? It would be cool to keep it boosted at 19psi through all rpm's if that is safe. I have an intake also and will have an exhaust by next weekend, but just wondering if its safe to do this???

you can set 19psi all range of RPM with your BC.
it need remove boost cut function on ECU or Boost Cut defender.

but Safe Max. Boost of EVO8 is 18~18.5 psi.
and it's mean only not usually peak boost.

Question..Why didn't Mitsu just manufacture the car to have it obtain 18psi boost the whole way through the powerband?

Excuse me for my ignorance if this is a stupid question.

Says who?

Claudius says 1.5 bars which is ~22 PSI, and I believe him more than you.

I am not sure I understand that statement..Mitsu claims that max boost is 18.4 at 3500 RPMs then drops off. I was curious as to why Mitsu didn't keep the car at max boost through redline...tis all

...because MMC doesn't want to fix a blown motor because some goofball decided to put in 87 octane gas then go street racing...

Mixing 87 octane pump gas with 18 psi of air into an enigine with 8.8:1 compression and running at high revs may detonate so much that the ECU can't retard the ignition enough, which would quickly result in a broken engine. It's a guess but seems to be a reasonable assumption. Although the manual says it recommends premium gas it also says that the motor can adjust for lesser gas. Hey we've all seen how careless some people can be, MMC is just just covering their butts.

My poor english makes me crazy.

USDM Evo8 ECU have Overboost Cut Func.
I'm not sure, cause i don't have chance to try it.

but in ECU data... control Overboost.

Evo have MAP sensor,
It check boost status and control boost with waste gate
control solenoid.

if use BC. ECU can't control waste gate,
so easy to make more boost than ECU's target boost.

but still MAP sensor checked boost status.
when reach to Over boost that DATA.

ECU control Fuel and Igntion time for decrease Peak boost.

In the case EVO5 RS, It have no Over boost control func.
but RS is race version...

so far as i know,

When AFS over 6350Hz Karmann Frequancy,
ECU try to control fuel too.
Cause AFS reach to saturation, it's not from Overboost contol
may be....

I said 6350 Hz...

Poor english of mine makes me crazy.

It's from EVO5 RS ECU data.
I try to find why happen boost cut on EVO5 RS.
but as far as i know. RS model have no boost limits.

About your injection duty.

Have you checked LAMDA?

When reach to Injector duty 92%,
Fuel pressure keep going 4.5bar ?
