gt3076r and plug gaps

im running a gt3076r set up with BPR8ES plugs. i have gap them at .26, anyone what to let me know what they are gapping thiers at?

and on 110 leaded, what is the max boosted your running with a gt30r kit? thanks justin

I gapped my BR8ES at .023 and have ran 30psi on 100oct w/ my old GT3076.

i used .025-.026 also.

Justin, did you get the dp? how did the "box" hold up?

very good vin. i havent even taken it out yet. if you can give me a call. im have some problems with boosting over 25psi.

i had serious misfire problems at .28 on my 35R, and now at .22 im working well, even at 32psi.

stock coilpacks.

curt, are you using the stock wires? i just took my magnecor wires off and put the stockers back on. i have not test it yet but will tomorrow. and ill regap my plugs to .22 thanks justin

I run .022 for the best results on the stock ignition. Each car seems to be different, you will most likley be able to push the limits of the stock ignition too so keep that in mind.

True, but 0.28-0.29" isn't a very large gap to begin with, and a 25% reduction in the gap (e.g. to a 0.21-0.22") is a fairly sizable 'tad'.

A smaller gap results in a shorter duration, weaker spark, which tends to go in the wrong direction where burn efficiency and power is concerned. This is the reasoning behind aftermarket products that improve spark energy and duration (e.g. MSD). In this case, it's a matter of the factory ignition not being capable of handling cylinder pressures far in excess of what the factory intended as opposed to the specified gap being too large.
