Got tuned BUT dont know spark plug gap.
What happened is I built my whole setup (AMS 2.3L with AMS GT35R turbo Kit ,HKS DLI II, VSR intake Manifold). and just to get the car running I was using NGK BPR7ES spark plugs with the gap not even set because I planned on never running boost because I was just breaking in the car. and totally forgeting which spark plugs I had in I went to get tuned and made 530whp on buschur's mustang dyno before he saw detination. I never even thought about the spark plugs until today and I was thinking I should go a step colder to BPR8ES spark plugs. BUT I really don't know where to gap them since my original plugs werent even gapped. Also, would it change anything major in the tune by changing to a colder plug and the gap not being exactly the same??? Would it change anything to do with the timing??? ALSO the HKS DLI II would probably allow me to have a larger spark plug gap...Correct???
Please help if ya know anything about this. I'm always really careful with my car and want everything to be as correct as it can be
what are some of the rest of ya'll with simillar mods running as far as spark plugs and spark plug gaps???

Was your tune on pump gas? Nice numbers on the mustang dyno!
I have tried both 7s and 8s in the coppers, in BPR and just the BR non protruding tip. They both seem about the same to me...
It should not affect your timing.
The NGK coppers are right around .027 right out of the box.

Your tuner should have asked about your plugs. I hate when a tuner simply throws a car on the dyno and does not give it a once over and ask some questions. I firmly believe that every car going on the dyno should have a boost leak test done prior to going on the dyno. I think most owners would be happy to pay an extra $50 to make sure they are getting the most out of their tune. On the spark plugs I would run one step colder and start at .026- .028 and see how it runs. You may have to close it up a bit more depending on your boost levels and ignition.

I don't know a whole lot about spark plugs, But now that I think about it. I'm supprised BPR7ES plugs were working ok with that much power. I Always heard you need to switch to the BPR8ES plugs with roughly 100whp over stock.
Thanks for ya'lls responses!!!
