Perrin Test Pipe Question

Hey call me a moron but I just got the perrin test pipe used and had a question about the install. I have the O2 sim that installs inside the car, but isnt there an o2 sensor that goes in the exsisting cat now? what am I supose to do with that? remove it ? or tie it up somewhere?

The O2 sensor goes after the cat. There is a bung already on the Perrin exhaust system to attach the O2 sensor too. If you have a different exhaust, then I dont know if you will already have a bung or not.

The test pipe you bought is for an EVO 8. Evo 8's don't have the O2 sensor in the cat.

correct. the IX O2 sensor is in the cat and the VIII is in the downpipe. However if you are using an VIII downpipe there is enough wire connected to the O2 sensor that you could just about pull it up to the turbo(told this by someone from vivid racing). You will have plenty of room to pull the O2 sensor to reach the bung in the downpipe if that is the route you want to go.

you sure about that ... I got the DP and and test pipe off a guy that ran it on his VIII ... but the test pipe nor the downpipe have a place for the O2 to screw into.

Could I just unplug the O2 that goes into the cat since I'm using the O2 sim ?

Just called Perrin ... the test pipe will not work on the IX

The newer ones will, but the one I have will not.

I believe the primary o2 sensor is in the o2 housing

There is no o2 sensor in the downpipe

Just what I stated before
8: bpipe
9: cat

I know this is a super old thread but i'd rather post in here as it is for the same reason. Would the 8 test pipe work on the 9 although it doesn't have a spot for the 2nd o2 sensor? That 2nd sensor is just to check if the cat is working anyways right? Couldn't you just zip tie up the second sensor out of the way and install the pipe?
