4G6-MIVEC Valve Clearance Adjustment

I was looking thru the Maintenance Schedule and shocked that the MIVEC needs valve clearance checks/ adjustments every 30k. Are they shim under bucket or screw type adjusters?

Does the IX have solid lifters? I have been searching and can not verify if the MIVEC Head has solid lifters on both camshafts.

Solid lifters? no way. It would be significantly louder if they were solid lifters.

oops! my mistake the Manual I was looking at was on Mitsubishi's website. When I got home I checked in my manual and it does not say anything about Valve adjustments.

Go to page 42

It says "4G6-MIVEC engine only"

NOT "4g63-MIVEC" (EVO 9)

4G6-MIVEC is found in the Galants and probably base, non V6 Eclipses (2.4L MIVEC).

Someone can double check...I'm going to bed

Does this mean no valve adjustment is needed? My engine ticks quite loudly, but I have not had a chace to compare with another IX to see if the ticking was normal.

Thanks.

I put forged internals in my IX and my ticks quite bad when warm, i changed the lash adjusters to the 3mm items, still no difference? Im suspecting something needs to be done to the mivec when you reinstall it? Ive just stripped the motor again to check everything is ok and everything is in spec
