Will I need a retune for AMS LICP & Works Drop in?

I did lots of research before ordering these parts and most people seem to have good feedback on both. I already know that the Works drop-in filter does not need a retune, but from reading the board, I know that some people reported change in boost pressures after changing the LICP. My IX currently has O2 Housing, TBE w/t decat, boost gauge and was custom tuned (Ecutek) with these parts on it.

Is it safe to trow these on both at the same time when my only monitoring mechanism is the boost gauge

I will try to write a long due review of all parts (please see sig) once the LICP, remaining gauges and the filter are installed (still waiting to receive Defi EGT and Oil Pressure Gauges to finish my custom center console so that I can snap some shots)

no re tune.

It's a drop in and a LICP, nothin big.

If it was alky or a filter kit (buschur etc) that would require new tuning.

You dont need a retune for theses parts. What you will need is a mbc to keep the boost set and not tampering though the power band.

You don't need a retune, I was going through the same thing, don't worry about it with those mods heh.

I have gone back and forth between the stock LICP and AMS unit several times. First off I don't really understand why or how the AMS pipe is suposed to make more power as the ID of both ends of the pipe are the same as the stocker. However I noticed a slightly different sound (raspy engine note) when coming on boost with the AMS pipe . I think that the A/f's have changed from the stock condition and without a fine tune my car was not real happy about it. I put the stocker bag on and it felt and ran normally, although perhaps a bit slower on boost until I F'd up the front of my car and put the AMS pipe back on... To answer the question... is it dangerous? No, probably not, but I bet it has changed A/f's enough not to be ideal. When you add more parts get it tuned again to be perfect.

wingless is right. You probably won't notice much of a gain by adding these two parts. Doubtful that you'll lose HP, but throw them on there, enjoy the new sound your engine makes, and once you get some more mods that require a re-tune, you'll have two less things to install at the time.

It depends how aggressively your ECUtek flash has been tuned. If you're running on the ragged edge, so-to-speak, then you'll want to be careful. Probably the wisest thing to do is to run your stock filter and bolt-on the LICP. Then see how much your boost changes. If the boost doesn't change, then drop the filter in, and you should be good to go. FYI, a drop in filter may increase your AFR by .2-.3 points. How much boost are you currently running and what Octane gas are you running?

sorry for the late reply

I am running 98 octane (equivalent of around 93 in the states). My boost gauge shows that I reach 1.55bar (22.5psi) in upper gears (with a momentary spike to 1.75bars 25.4psi)
