Looking for a 2.2L Stroker kit

I'm interested in the 2.2L stroker, and I'm curious to know who else offers a 2.2L Stroker kit besides Jun (too expensive). Crower offers a 2.25L stroker ((97mm stroke with a 86mm bore) for the Mitsubishi / Talon 4G63 blocks. I like their kit but wish it was cheaper. I'm looking for something just as good or better, but cheaper in price. Any ideas?

Just get a 2.3 stroker. Lots of high quality options: Eagle/Crower/Oliver rods, Wiseco/Ross pistons, OEM Mitsu crank. The benefits of the 2.2 do not outweigh the cost.

There are a few threads by Dave Buschur...most of the 2.3's are in fact 2.25 litre kits...

There are quite a few cars with Buschur and AMS blocks...and they make tons of power. Look into them as they are the most cost effective.

Cosworth is comming out with a 2.2 that will have a forged custom crank.I'm sure it will be big bucks though.

AFter seeing the formidable amount of cars that run high, HIGH horsepower..ex:

Al Friedman, AMS, Buschur, Pruven and a dozen street cars and such, there is little reason to spend a fortune on these very custom, high dollar stroker kits. IMHO...of course.

Just the same, I would LOVE to have a Jun, Tomei, HKS, Cosworth and most desirably, oddly enough, Crower....kit.

But for the most part, these domestic strokers will handle so much that most of us cant throw that kind of abuse at them. Pick the right piston and rod combo and fortify the fuel pump....thats a big issue.

If you are road racing or Auto-Xin then a dry sump would be an AWESOME upgrade, one I hope to deal with.

Good luck.

... I checked the Crower website and they offer a 2.25 stroker kit for $3900.00. Ouch! I'm trying to stay with the 2.2 because I am running an ATP GT3071R Turbo kit. If I go with a 2.3L stroker, I will have to upgrade the turbo because it would be too small for the 2.3 and it will maxed out with the larger displacement. Also, I want a kit that is a direct "drop in" and doesn't need a modified block. And it has to be reliable.

The difference between a 2.2 and a 2.3 would be minimal. Now the cost difference is Huge.
