TOB/Wedge collar removal
I recently had the same thing happen to me, where the tob wouldn't release, it is a pita never had it happen to me before, but another way to get around it would be to unbolt the pressure plate from the flywheel. I know it probably seems like you can't but I noticed there is enough room to stick a rachet in there and next thing you know the tranny will fall right apart.
ive used this method before too..usually if it takes me more then 5 trys to get the TOB off i jus pull the rubber boot out of the shift fork hole and use my 1/4inch wobble sockets and an extension to unbolt the pressure plate from the flywheel while turning the crank....takes 10 mins and saves alot of hastle of looking through a little peakhole with a prybar
When I did it, it slid off incredibly easy, but not at first. You really need to make sure the collar is fully compressed before it will budge. I was pulling the clutch from the tranny without the motor in the car, so when I moved the clutch fork it wasn't actually compressing anything.
i unbolt the pressure plate from the flywheel (10 mins/six bolts)
I then cut a finger or small hole off the pressure plate (5mins)
Then i unbolt the 10mm bolt holding the pin for the fork and slide the whole assembly out.
The old TOB just stays the on the pressure plate, or you could just remove it without damage since it is easily accessible.

I've cursed the wedge collar 4 times now, and after some good advice from John Shepherd - "if you're mad, walk away for a while"... I was able to easily get it off.
My trick, was using a welding clamp to force the clutch fork over to the wheel side ("A" position on evomoto). Having it clamped tight and locked was key.

Next trick was getting the right screwdriver. Also, one that you can get a wrench on for leverage.

Finally, grind the tip with a small angle enough to get between the collar and the TOB...

Popped easy - and damn it felt good. Many thanks to Shepherd for the advice - which allowed me to think about it for a while.

OR, you can take a 10mm socket and extention, unbolt the pressureplate from flywheel and off the tranny comes much easier to work with off the car
. i did that because after trying and trying it wouldnt come off so i took the tranny off to find that the TOB was locked in place and probably would never came off. so i took a grinder and cut the biotch off.
