i have tanabe 2.75" dp, fits perfect. magnaflow HFC, custom 3 inch catback piping with hks carbon/ti muffler. Works GREAT. no rubbing or rattling

if you dont care bout noise, then the GREDDY Ti catback is awesome

If you've got a IX, why don't you just get a nice tune / filter / CB combo and be happy? You'd be in the neighborhood of 300 whp with that.

Very valid and that's the other thing I'm trying to decide between, just going with a Perrin Cat back or Greddy Evo 2 cat back and a Forge MBC. Keep the stock cat, stay legal, no downpipe. Still going to put me 300hpish without doing the full TB. That option is cheaper (700ish) and legal...

Curious why you're so stuck on the Perrin exhaust. They don't make any spectacular, nor do they participate in the Evo community to any degree, so I don't know why people are drawn to their products. Btw, a cat-back won't give you much power at all, nor should any cat-back cost anywhere near $600.

I've heard good things about the Perrin setup, I heard that it fits correctly an doesnt have any other issues and I hear that it's not obnoxiously loud, and that it yields quite impressive gains. 3 things that definitely matter to me.

Stupid question that I kno is off topic and Im probly gonna get flamed for it... but how the hell do I change what car I drive... on the left of the post wth my info "drives" I put Evo IX and didn't put MR OOPS! how do I change it?

Go to your profile and change it.

The Perrin is not known for being quiet while fitting perfectly and giving impressive gains. Not sure who fed you that line. It is a very uncommon exhaust on the Evo.

HKS Silent

I got a turbo back (including o2 housing) with cat delete and HKS Silent Hi-Power on my JDM IX.

You can definitely tell that it is louder than stock even at idle and it screams nicely at WOT. It is definitely livable as far as noise levels. I am an old fart though, so if anything, I would want it to be a bit quieter. If you want something stealth/quiet, I would suggest to go with one of the quieter catbacks (or get fujitsubo or silent hi-power with decat…)

The HKS exhaust is 3’’ but the flange where it connects to the cat (or cat-delete) necks down to what seems like 2.5 or 2.75’’. If you are a 3’’ fanatic, you could always get it cut and get a slightly longer decat pipe built

My car seems fast enough for now though – I can pull in front of a stock IX (3rd gear pull @ 3.5k RPM) by the time I change to 4th gear

I have seen people here with it listed in they're signatures. I called Megan racing and they said the exhaust for the IX won't be out for a few months.

I ended up going with Helix v2 dp helix test pipe and greddy evo2 cat back... For a full 3" TBE. Should get it next week. I'll let evryone know my impressions and what I think after install. I'll try to get up some good pics and possibly some sound clips as well. What should I do next, without gettin too crazy....
