Slowboy Intercooler?

Anyone see the dyno graph on thier home page, unless im wrong its showing something like a 50hp bump from "just thier intercooler"

Im no Warrtalon but im pretty sure it doesnt work like that...im intrested in this intercooler but seems like a pretty outragous claim.

Anyway.... you are correct, you should not see a 50HP gain from an intercooler, at least not on a stock turbo car. The stock turbo simply can not flow enough air that the stock intercooer is a significant restriction. A large aftermarket turbo, however, could easily outflow the stock front mount. 50HP worth? I'm not sure, but I wouldn't doubt 30HP on a 35R at high boost.

Exactly what came to my mind when I read that post.

On the stock turbo, expect to gain anywhere from 0-15whp. 50HP is outrageous.

If it were 50-hp they would be on the front of every car on here. I agree 0-15 is what should be expected.

My friend Dan has this intercooler. On slowboy's page those are his dyno sheets they posted. 100% I know this for a fact. Not only did he put on a front mount, but he got 272's, ported manifold, o2 housing, and hotside at the same time. Now if this is the way a good shop shows their numbers for thier products, are you sure you want to buy something from them??? Use your judgement.

I think even up to 10hp is more likely.

I have that FMIC, and I feel like rambling on a bit about it. There isn't much info out there for this unit for some reason.

I ran the same exact core on the 2g, and I like working with products that I am familiar with. I have a bunch of pics I need to get on my site, but it's pretty self explanatory. Looks great IMO, fills the bumper nicely. It bolted right up, no cutting required. The lower pipe is a very nice piece, fit right up with no modification at all. I recently added the upper pipe, which works with the stock battery, fits great, and comes up high enough to clear a 4" intake when the time comes. I got mine flanged for my Gus-modded 1g BOV.

I saw no gain on race gas, but that is to be expected. On pump gas it was worth 1-2 mph. I installed it in early spring when it was still cool, so the gain wouldn't be as great then anyway. It is probably worth slightly more in the summer heat. 50 hp seems like a stretch though, for sure. Those cams were worth 30 hp on thier own.

IMO, it's a great option for people to consider. Everyone that sees it comments on the FMIC or the piping.
