Get a 3076R on a 2.3 with a 3076 I make 400 360 on pump(93 octane 20 psi at time of dyno), full boost before 4k (22 psi).

I'm just doing some research at this point, but I think a guide would be beneficial to all. I don't even have my Evo yet but am certain I will, and hopefully soon.

A "good" turbocharger for the EVO depends largely on the following factors:
1. Power goals (top end, midrange, low end)
2. Octane (or meth injection)
3. Dispalcement

For the stock 2.0 and for those looking for sub 300whp track use, I would stay with the stocker, 10.5 hotside. The 20G also offers a decent upgrade, no real loss in spool-up but very little gains on pump gas. We are working with several "better" pump-gas solutions than the 20G that hopefully we can introduce in the coming weeks.

The GT30 and larger series is primarily suited for those that are looking for big numbers and willing to live with a little bit of lag. These turbos generally are worth about 20-40whp more on pump gas, and about ~100whp gains over the stock EVO turbo (10.5) on race gas.

For me personally the ultimate balance in drivability versus power would be a 2.3 stroker motor with a GT3076. Expect to see about 340whp on pump gas and 415whp on race gas (our mustangdyne awd) with very decent spool-up and response times.

Cheers,

Gary

Does anyone have lbs/min data on the GT3076 and GT35r? Or max hp?

^Compressor Graphs there.

Basically the GT30R with .82 (the 1.06 lags like crazy) is good for about 400-415whp on our dyno on race gas. The GT35R (and you really should have a fully built motor / head for this turbo) is good for a hair over 520whp on our dyno with the 1.06 hotside. Obviously the motor builds / tunes vary widely here, so keep that in mind!

How much boost for the 415whp number and how much boost for the 520?

Like 20 and 30 psi respectively?

I was in the same situation you are last year at this time(except I already had the car.) I decided to go with a atp 3071, its a little smaller than the 3076 everyone is talking about. The spool up is about 300 rpm quicker in every gear than the 3076...about 3500 in 3rd about 3400 in 4th and about 3200 in 5th. Very close to my stock turbo where it was tuned at w/ cams, gears etc. With my laundry list of mods my car made 380 awhp and 320 tq. on pump gas at 22 lbs. or about 60+ more than a modded stock turbo w/o alky. Thats my 2 cents. FYI with this turbo your new favorite gear will be 4th.

The best thing to do is try riding in a car with an upgraded turbo. Then decide if it is worth it.

This does sound like a really nice setup. Especially since it spools like a stock turbo.

how about a ride? i've read the atp kit sucks, but then they could be fanboys for other kits. i'd like to see for myself. i like atp because its stealthy and thats what you need in cali.
