Ok, fine, but is that the only reason to get the Works housing? No, it is a cast housing, so it is very sturdy, and it also has the factory brackets to support the turbo and manifold unlike the SS O2. Likewise, with the SS O2, it is very thing metal, so we are not yet sure how long they will last. Hopefully, they last indefinitely, especially with the coating, but we know they aren't as strong as the cast housings. For $100 or less, though, it's pretty much worth the risk. Hell, if it breaks in 2 years, you can just put on another one, right?

Anyway, I don't think this warrants a bunch of people calling out Works to have them explain themselves. They may very well get 5whp/5wtq gains in their own testing if they took the time to do it for all we know, or they may get the same results as Buschur. They're DP, HFC, and cat-backs don't make anymore power than other exhausts, but people still pay assloads for them because of their "fit and finish." This o2 housing is really no different...you pay more for the Works name and quality, not for more power.
well its not that im calling them out but i see whatyour saying. i would just like to here what they have to say cause they spoke higher then the tests shown. id like to know a lil more that is all.

Excellent write up...

Now for the question of what about the lack of a bracket on the ebay O2 housings putting much pressure on the manifolds (namely DC) and causing it to crack....

There is more than enough reason to call them out Warr. When you hype up a product so damn much, than for some mysterious reason never have any dyno sheets to show anything, and on top of that charge $449 for something useless, you have a crap load of explaining to do.

And the most important thing that you did say is that people want more damn power, not something pretty to look at.

I think you're being a little preliminary with your coments. It's fine if you complain once you have more information, but not yet.

How much power did your O2 housing add for $449?

Oh, I understand what you're saying, especially since you purchased this, but there's also the buyer beware factor where you should know better than to spend $450 on an o2 housing when a set of cams costs that much, right? The moment I saw Works advertise this part on EvolutionMR.net, my eyes bugged out, and I asked how in the world they could charge $450 for such a minor mod. The Works fans refer to the fit and finish as well as the true 3" opening, but there was never any empirical evidence to prove its value. In light of that, anyone who purchased it did so without proof.

No one put a gun to your head and made you buy a $450 02 housing.

You guys are telling me this is the first time you noticed Works has over priced products with absolutly no data to back it up? It has always been this way fellas.

And another thing is, where the hell is WORKS dyno sheet on this? All this extensive testing, and blah, blah , blah,.......... yet no dyno plots.......coincidence?

I paid a crap load of money for this paper weight when I could've gotten cams.

Yeah, i'm livid as hell.

To be honest I didn't think the Works 02 Housing would make a lot of power. I am currently running and the reason I got it because its bigger and it has the stock bolt support. I also have some money to throw around, lol. Another thing about these tests that Dave does with his white RS, I feel their would be different outcome because that white RS as we all know is well built up with engine and everything. If Dave did this with Trent's car or car with just basic bolt-ons and then we would get more relative data to our cars. But thats my opinion. Anyhow thanks for the test, Dave.

Beacuse we took their damn word for it, obviously I know better and will no longer support them.

You base your relationship with a manufacturer on trust and what they sell is legit... and since everybody was praising it, I jumped on it. It is my fault for buying it, and in no way am I placing blame on anyone but myself and Works.
