I haven't read every post here. But first off, thanks to Dave for providing a great test for us! Secondly, as the Works piece is very expensive it is a cast part. The investment they had to put into manufacturing a cast part is not cheap. The product will be higher priced for them to get some of that money back. Some people won't spend the money...some will. I am sure they do not have a %200 profit margin just because the part is over $400 bucks. I won't buy the works part...but I think its a great piece and am glad its available to the Evo community. I don't think they should be slammed for the price of it.

my thoughts

No way in HELL I am paying $50 for an EBAY o2 housing! Forget that garbage, I'll go with WORKS or at the very least have the stock part ported/coated as was suggested.

I have found throughout my experience that the old saying "you get what you pay for" holds true here. I may not get the performance gains all you guys b*tch about all the time from WORKS products, but I will take the reliability, fit, finish, and the "bend over backwards" customer service I expect for my $30k+ EVO when working with a tuner and their products!

No way I am going on the cheap; and all you unemployed comedians can forget the side remarks about the bend over backwards comment I made earlier.

$50 for an o2 housing...gimme a break and it's made in good ole' Communist CHINA!

Geez...!

BTW, thank you David for the dyno testing and time you put in when taking the time to compare the products mentioned.

I appreciate it, as do many others!

Whatever makes you feel good about yourself and your car. The FACT is that a large amount of people in the evo community run the ebay unit and have had great results. Do some research before you bash something for being cheap. Its people like you who spend countless dollars on their car for absolutley no gain or benefit, but hey its your money not mine.

Also, the boost spiking issues were addressed and turned out to be related to the WGA in most cases. Works is a great company but their o2 housing should not exceed the $200-250 price range. Im sure they make a considerable profit selling it for $450

Less power than the one that costs 1/5th as much. It's fine if all those overblown things are worth the extra price tag to you, but for most people, the price difference is too ridiculous to justify.

Great, I am glad they have great results if power is all your considering.

I think the fitment, finish, and reliability issue is MOOT when comparing WORKS products to the EBAY o2.

Fine so I spend an extra say $250-300 dollars for a better fit/finish on a product that still makes more power than stock. Many people on here probably **** that kind of money away going drinking over a couple of weekends.

When I spend $30k+ on a vehicle an extra $250 isn't that big of a deal when I know I am getting something that has a great fit/finish and is warrantied.

If I took into account the amount I get paid on hour at my job for downtime because of a $50 vs. $400 part that could cause potential problems then it's money well spent in my book.

Like I said, I am not going on the cheap. That doesn't mean I wouldn't consider a cheaper part, just not in this case. If someone else wants to buy the EBAY housing then hey all the more power to them, that's what the free market and competition is all about. People (i.e. the market) will dictate whether or not the WORKS o2 housing stays on the shelves or is re-designed/improved or the cost drops.

show me a fitment, finish, or reliability issue.... between the two! If your worried about those 3 things, then you should possibly look at a different vehicle, lol, the evo is all about power and performance

There is no downtime from the Ebay o2, and for $450 you could add 30whp with 3 separate mods as I listed before. All that fit and finish garbage is way overblown - it's just a way for Works customers to justify spending ridiculous amounts of money for meager power numbers. Yes, fit and finish is nice, but come on...you can't get stuck in that rut and blow all your money on unnecessary things. Have you ever stopped to think that maybe they really just charge too much, and it's not worth it? The rest of us realize that...

The fitment issue is the support bracket that is missing that has been brought up as a concern and brought into question earlier in the thread.

I believe the finish/coating issue between the two was already addressed with most everyone agreeing that WORKS had the nicest finish, but with emphasis that it wasn't worth the high $$$.

Corrent me if I am wrong but if that support isn't their will it not stress out the other components over time bringing into question the reliability issue.
