Possible Rear Diff. Issue?

I am getting a strange vibration / rattling from the rear of the car....It only occurs at low rpms and with the wheel turned? At first I thought it was my bushcur exhaust rattling, I crawled underneath the car and grabbed the exhaust and starting shaking the exhaust to see if its hitting something but hear no noise? So I wasnt sure what it was. I started searching and found some info. on the rear diff. and people saying a chattering coming from the clutch plates? How loud would this noise be? The chattering noise I have is very audible and quite annoying.

Im using shockproof in the rear which I was told by Shep that it would be fine to use, but what im reading is that shockproof doesnt lubricate the rear diff. as well and you need a friction modifier added? Supposadly without this it will cause the clutch plates in the rear diff. to make noise....Am I to assume this is correct? I am getting diqueen this week and will swap it into the rear diff. in hopes that it cures this chattering and slight vibration im getting....If not I will go on to the next step but this just seems logical to me. I dont remember hearing the noise when I first installed my exhaust, and its been about 2k miles since I changed my rear diff. fluid. I read that somone started hearing a chattering after 1k miles of using shockproof in the rear. So im kind of between exhaust rattling or rear diff. making noise?

Does anyone have any insight on this or can possibly confirm this is a possibility I stated all the info I know about the subject and I have searched, im just looking for a little clearer picture of what this could be?

Get that sh*t out of your rear diff.

I had the same problems and changed to Mobil 1 75w90 and it went away.

I had it in my TC as well, so I just got the Shockproof outta there too.

you can either add some friction modifier to the existing lube or switch it. I have 56k on my car with tons of track days...all with DiaQueen LSD and my diff still works great FWIW

+1 take that crap out of your car. My friend had it in his car with the same results as Qwiksrt4 and he fixed it the same way.

Interesting.....Well I wouldnt have put it in if Shep didnt say it would be ok? Thats what I dont understand. I will put diaqueen in it and see what happens, I use shockproof in my tc but its fine.....Its not crap, it actually works very well (DSM guys use it a lot) but I guess it doesnt have the lubrication properties the rear diff. needs?

Hopefully the chatter will be gone after this and no permanent damage is done, which from what I read it doesnt hurt it just gets noisey.....

I have a friend that has a shop that has an exstensive background in DSM's and that's why he suggested Shockproof, because DSM's love it. The rear diff in our Evos must be different, because I've read more than a few threads about Shockproof causing problems in Evo rear diffs.

Some people get away with it, that's cool. I just know that it caused me nothing but a headache, and as soon as I swapped it out, the problem went away.
