Blew my motor!!! What to DO!!!
Well I puchased my 04 evo almost a month ago. To make a long story short, two and a half quarts low and oil caused a knocking noise. Took the car to Mitsubishi and they found that I spun the the #1 bearing on the #1 Rod. There was crankshaft damage and I need a new short block.
My car has 27,xxx miles. It has an Exde tuned by SHIV, 680 injectors, 272 HKS Cams, Fidanza adjustable cam gears, Upgraded fuel pump, and a turbo back Burla exhaust system.
After doing some research I found a few reputable companies on the boards that make shortblocks. AMS, Busher, Group-S, Mangus, Slowboy, and RNR.
I only live a few blocks form RNR and I spoke to them about what they offer as far as shortblocks. They offer a 2.4l stroker. I did some searching on here and found very little info on Reviews about there Stroker kit.
Can you guys please chime in and give me some ideas of where I should go and what i should do.

Well, I've never seen any customer review or testimonials from RNR customers regarding his block work. He does advertise block specials from time to time, and there were several occasions I've requested for pics of his blocks to be posted....and I have not seen any pics posted yet. I dont think he builds the block, he just outsources it to a local shop to do the builds. if I were you just go with a shop that has been tried and true.

My last cars have the oil light would come on if the oil pressure or level was low. On the EVOs I guess its just pressure that causes the light to come on.
I never checked the oil when I bought the car since I was going to be changing it soon, ASSUMED that this car had a oil level sensor on it. My fault bearing spun. The ****ty thing is I just purchased the oil filter and oil the day the bearing spun. Anyways time for a stroker.

If you want to know why not to use RNR and why you should use AMS or Buschur, then you need to search for a few hours.
It would behoove you to get a built motor from Buschur or AMS.
