I went the turbo route first as well. So long as your engine shows good compression numbers and seems overall healthy, I would just do the turbo and enjoy it for a while

You can always build the motor at a later date. The stock bottom end can easily support 500+whp. Your never going to get that on pump gas anyway, so you can just run 4-450whp on pump daily, all day, every day. And then for the fun times use the alky/race fuel. The engine should have no problems sustaining this power for semi-prolonged periods of time just fine.

Do the motor first, because if your going w/a 2.0 you don't want to buy a new crank (or block) when it fails.

Do both together to get a good package price on parts and labor, and especially save on the cost of the turbo install. Should save you a minimum of $1000. That's what I did.

See, thats pretty much what I was thinking also. I would really not have to buy a new block if I could avoid it.

If you tend to worry like I do, save yourself the stress that comes from driving around with a GT35R'd motor making 400-500WHP on stock internals (stock bearings) and wondering when your next 28 psi pull to redline on race gas will spin a bearing and send a rod through the block. Sorry to sound so dismal, but it helps to have someone play devil's advocate. Byuild it first and boost with some peace of mind.
