Spacers for tie bar to allow downpipe to fit?
I have the Ichiba downpipe on my IX and for some reason it's rubbing the tie bar. I put around 3 spacers at each bolt and it still hits at rough road areas. Up to how many can I add to the bolts to keep from hurting or straining the tie bar and what it does?
Thanks. I didn't know that it would originally work out this way or I would have gone a different route. NOw that it's on I just want to know how to deal with it.

Is it the stock tie bar? I decided to upgrade the lower arm bars when I installed my 3" Perrin DP. Try the Cusco V1 & V2 combo.... I wouldn't go with any more than 3 washers on the stock bars unless you get longer bolts, but then it might not servce its purpose as well since it is farther away from the chassis.

Would you rather keep messing with that and risk straining the tie bar rather than just getting a DP that fits and selling the one you have? What possessed you to get an Ichiba DP to begin with?
buschur sells the spacers for the lower tie bars. I think you could get how many you need and get longer bolts and you should have your problem solved.
I have few but I'm keeping it for later use.
The spacers are pretty nice, solid aluminum piece lathed and got a hole in it.
good luck.
also, let's try to be problem solvers instead of complainers.

Stay away from spacers. If you can't fit up flush with the flange on the supporting member then you are putting the fastener (bolt) in bending. The more spacers that are used the longer the lever arm on the cantileved load and the less force is require to put the bolt in bending.
The bolts has much less bending strength and the lower tie bars effectiveness is reduced. You should choose a downpipe wisely and pick one that will allow the lower tie bars to fit properly without spacers. Unless you are strictly a drag racer and could care less about handling.

Whats so bad about ichiba?
I bent the bar to fit.
Might be insignificantly more forgiving but think about it - if the stress was severe enough to torsionally straighten a slightly bent crossbar then the end mounts would be much more beefy
